When the writers on The Simpsons needed a
generic - sounding
movie for Marge and Homer to see, sans
kids, they came up with «The Stockholm Affair,» a spy thriller plotted enough to make Marge feel smart, but with enough action to entertain Homer.
«Heaven Knows What» (perhaps only really let down by its
generic and forgettable title) is part of the tradition of the drug
movie, and the Safdies have acknowledged the influence of such films as «Panic in Needle Park,» «Naked,» and «
Kids» in its making.
