There is so much talk about
getting wingers and
strikers that we are all forgetting our stats from last season. It was not scoring goals
which was the problem (thanks to Alexis whom people have already started demonising for being ambitious) but its conceding goals
which is our problem. So shouldn't the club be more focussed on
getting a CDM and a CB.
Same problems from last season
Which are intensity and tempo being to slow and the balance of the team looked completely wrong with a fake LW 3 cm's and a
striker who can't even control the ball and
get involved.
We need better though but I'm in full 100 % support of the purchase of Shkrodan Mustafi and Lucas Perez.Mustafi can help Koscielny now.I've been saying it here time and time again that it's not a world clsss
striker we have needed but a clinical finisher
which we have lacked for several seasons and counting.Hopefully this guy puts Giroud where he belongs
which is on the bench.Though a world class
striker is good what we have lacked is someone who puts the game to bed in clinical fashion but Arsene Wenger has listened to many people to the extent that if he can't
get a world class
striker then he can
get anyone. If Arsenal had a clinical finisher for some five seasons or so we coulda won the EPL then.Giroud has cost us matches and will continue to cost us matches.Giroud is half decent as someone said here the last time.I expect Perez to be much better if he can take on his man and be clinical in front of goal.
the only thing our
strikers (whoever it will be) need to do is to convert created chances
which we had plenty last season and we are going to have them this season too... So, I'll put it simple: we need a
striker that doesn't s ** t his pants when he
get in front of the goal and hit the g ** d ** n target and score goals!!!!!!!!
Which would mean us very solid in deed if we can
get a top
striker, to go along with Giroud as second choice.

which means a new formation.
It's difficult to blame Ozil for the difficulties he's faced at Arsenal without looking at the big picture... like the fans, he too was lied to by Wenger... there is no doubt in my mind that he was told by Wenger that he was trying desperately to recreate our earlier success by acquiring players that fit the system he ran when Henry was in his prime... as we know this hasn't happened... in order for Ozl to flourish he needs some speed up front, forwards that can make intelligent runs, a boss in the midfield to compensate for his obvious defensive liabilities and defenders who can transition from defence to offence quickly and efficiently... much like he had in Real and with the German National squad... unfortunately he ended up on a squad that has a
striker who plays with his back to goal, very few intelligent runs into the box, minus Sanchez, no one to take pressure off him in the midfield, once Cazorla was injured, average defensive midfielders around him,
which simply highlighted his lacking defensive qualities and defenders who lack the necessary cutting edge when it comes to transitional passing... instead of blaming Ozil,
which is simply too easy, especially considering his mopey disposition, we should be asking ownership and / or Wenger why they brought him in if they didn't intend on doing what was necessary to
get the best from him... can you imagine Ozil playing with the likes of Henry, Viera, Petit and Pires, it would be incredibly to watch and even more difficult to stop... so the only thing different between his experiences in Real and with the German team versus his time at Arsenal are the players around him and we all know who is in charge of making those decisions, the Grinch who stole soccer
Wonder what you lots would be saying if we have bought fabregas and chelsea
got ozil with costa in front.and to all «if chelsea win the bpl, its cos of fabregas» announcers here, i say if chelsea win the league its cos of their whole team and most importantly costa.the thing that prevented them from winning it last season was lack of a proper
striker like costa
which jose testified to and not because they did nt create enough scoring chances (they created more scoring chances than us last season).
When Giroud is on his game he's excellent the difference between him and op
strikers like Aguero is Aguero has more consistency and can
get the goal agains a top team when its tight.im not sure any of the
strikers mentioned are what we need, we need an aguero type player
which none of the mentioned are.
Alex Oxlade - Chamberlain was brought on at right - back, while Olivier Giroud came on for a midfielder,
which allowed Alexis to slot in behind, and the switch worked, with the Ox assisting the French

lewa and Benz r out, griezmann, lukaku, auba and dybala r young and will have d cash pits of Europe chasing them...
which means astronomical transfer fees / wage (we'll definitely lose in d bidding war)... huguain is a viable option but with a transfer fee of 55m and 200k wages for a 29 year old????... BONKERS!!!!! I don't know about u but I feel we shld do everytin legal / illegal to

striker (opinions differ to
which one) we need cover for Le Coq (again opinions differ) and maybe we need one other in another area of the pitch, but if we don't
get them we wont be better than we were this year and we wont move closer to the real glory.
we again need about three world class players and in my opinion that includes a genuine Iron man DM with intelligence as well as muscle, a genuine world class 30 goal a season
striker, the likes of
which will turn a game around when its looking bad, and with the fall of Santi Cazorla looking ever more imminant we also now need a genuine creative midfielder (why did nt Wenger
get Cesc when he was an option?)
The Blues manager Ronald Koeman this week stated that star
striker Romelu Lukaku would need to move on to a bigger club in order to meet his full potential,
which of course
got my head thinking...
I know there's no wingers in this team but I believe theo can do well with a partner through the middle, Ox's future is at CM / CAM so he can still be an influence off the bench in this system, Podolski is a CF so he would flourish playing off a partner like Giroud or Sanchez as St, Ozil also playing as CAM
which we all want, he's
got guys behind him who'll make runs into the box and also pacey
strikers upfront to pick a perfect pass
which he does best
What a failire he's become. He was bought as the man supposed to lead the line and send us to glory and now he becomes a so called super sub.I don't
get it.France's leading
striker is a super sub at Arsenal.Since he came here he's part of the reason why we've not been able to win the league. He's also part of the reason why Wenger remains hesitant in signing a world class
striker since for some reason he still believes in him. He's really affected Arsenal a lot
which I don't kbow if many have realized. At times playing with him is like playing with no
striker at all. This inconsistencies won't help us at all going forward We have absolutely zero quality in striking department.
We're NOT linked now with anyone else and that's a worrying thing in itself, I personally really don't think Walcott is good enough to play that
striker role and I know I'll
get roundly «thumbed down» for this but its how I feel about the boy he's good but NOT as good as he thinks he is and it annoys me that theres a possibility that all the toing and froing around his contract may be stopping us from signing a top notch
striker (and I DO NT think Martinez is this) I do feel that AW will opt for the cheap and second rate options again and this will also include not buying a
striker and putting Walcott in this role, meanwhile all our rivals will be putting strong established players into the positions where they need to bull up their squads we are not well known for doing this and its not going to happen now,
which is infuriating as this is the right time to break that mould and go for it!!
By far the best article I have ever read on this site, there was no bias or empty statements, just cold hard facts, the writer even respected wengers budget but still pointed to where he should've improved, there are no excuses, what you read is literrally all u
get with arsene, if you gave him a budget of 9m or 1 billion, he will ALWAYS take the risk cause he doesn't give a fk about the consequences as if he was a teenager raging through puberty, his stubborn is absolutely pathetic, can you believe he turned down signing a keeper when almunia was shocking, can you believe he didn't sign a CB when squillaci was awful, can you believe that he REFUSED to sign a CDM for almost 8 years, CAN you believe on one of the most important transfer windows of arsenals history, arsene decided to go host charity matches in rome, that's right instead of trying hard for the fans that have respected him and pay him one of the highest managerial wages in the world, he decided to do what he pleased as usual, cause he doesn't answer to anyone, nor does he giving a flying fk, gazidis a man i thought was also a crook went and did arsene's job for him and at least
got us a
striker (
which cost us the title in january last season) and arsene foolishly proclaims that «if i was here we wouldn't of signed danny» meaning we wouldn't of had ANY recognised cf till giroud recovered, arsene wenger is a joke of the highest order, lack of respect, lack of shame and lack order, i despise him
this is what can really make our season when you know sanchez will leave for free next season why pay his wages sell him to psg and build a team
which can stay here for years give psg sanchez and 30 million and
get draxler verati krychowiak even auriar if a deal falls through when you want to win league you sould have a big squad with good players on bench look at city manu and chelsea they all have good players we need these 4 players there is no player other then ozil who can create a goal for stricker or play a killer pass niether bellerin or oxlade can not play a good threatning ball when
striker is in the box if we
get them
if he
gets Mahrez, he won't
get Lacazette and Mahrez is not a
striker, I might be wrong but I think Wenger just wants one of them to appease fans craving for a big move... unless you are 100 % sure Mahrez is just a rumour
which I don't think it is..
I think only barca real or Bayern can tempt those players away from leicester, they would give at least a year to the club, but season after that they will move onto other club depending on their form next season. As for arsenal transfer i wouldn't want to listen to rumours as most of the times these rumours are just utter garbage.i want a certain rumour about Wolfsburg signing giroud to be true.Anyways if our idiotic manager has some sense left in him after an embarrassing season he should
get a premium
striker which the club needed for past 4 years. He need to put his ego aside and his old philosophy of waiting for players to develop. We need already established players in every department of our team.Penny pinching has cost us just pay the damn money
get the players.I
get the feeling next season is going to be harder and we have less chance of winning cause man city have had 2 seasons without premier league and guardiola is gonna bring more quality and hunger to that team.
Up front we have a few world - class players surrounded by some serious pretenders... Sanchez is by far the most accomplished player in our attack but the controversy surrounding his contractual mishandling could see him go before the window closes or most definitely by season's end... obviously a mistake by both parties involved, as Sanchez's exploits have never been more on display than in North London, but the club's irresponsible wage structure and lack of real intent have been the real undoing in this mess... Lacazette, who I think has some world - class skills as a front man, will only be as good as the players and system around him,
which is troubling due to our current roster and Wenger's love of sideways passing... Walcott should have been sold years ago, enough said, and Welbeck should never have been brought in from the
get - go... both of these players have suffered numerous injuries over their respective careers and neither are good enough to overcome such difficulties: not to mention, they both are below average first - touch players,
which should be the baseline test for any player coming to a Wenger - led Arsenal team... Perez should have been played wide left or never purchased at all; what a huge waste of time and money,
which is ridiculous considering our penny pinching ways and the fact that fans had been clamoring for a real
striker for years... finally Giroud, the fact that he stills wears the jersey is a direct indictment of this club's failure to
get things right... this isn't necessarily an attack on Giroud because I think he has some highly valued skills, but not for a team that has struggled to take their sideways soccer to the next level, as his presence slows their game even more, combined with our average, at best, finishing skills... far too often those in charge have either settled or chosen half - measures and ultimately it is us that suffer because no matter what happens Wenger, Gazidis and Kroenke will always make more money whereas we will always be the ones paying for their mistakes... so every time someone suggests we should just shut - up and support the team just think of all the sacrifices you've made along the way and simply reply... f *** off
Benzema is the only Real Madrid true
striker and starter, Madrid has to
get replacemnt for him before they let him go
which is difficult at this time because you could not find CF in the market right now.Yes, there are players like lewandowski, Cavani, Higuaín, Lacazzette, Gotze but are they really in the market? Is it easy to
get them at this time?I doubt it.
We still want to, or are forced into playing short passes across the pitch
which might
get us five yards closer to the opposition goal, but when you've made 12 short range passes and are still 50 yards away, with no
striker in the box.....
Haha and a new stadium as well too, with lots of car parks, sorry mate our midfield is well loaded barring any major injuries
which of course as we know will most definetely happen, all we need is a world class
striker (Admin * Cough - article *), centre back, maybe a winger and handle the two other positions
which are not that neccesary but could be useful for rotation like the ospina back up position and
getting an extra midfielder in Ngolo Kante I love his simplicity and his mobility much much much better upgrade to flamini
They bring different qualities, much like alexis vs Giroud at
striker... Ospina is much better at reflex saves and probably does nt
get beaten from range as much as Cech does, however Cech is much more commanding in the box when it comes to crosses and corners
which is vital in the physical premier league, thus its all about what you are looking for in your keeper.
Wenger was asked about this today, as reported by ESPN, and the reason for him not signing a centre back or a utility player before the end of the window,
which many Arsenal fans were left baffled by, although at least we did
get a
striker in, even though the signing of Danny Welbeck may not have happened if Giroud had not been injured.
The thing is he doesn't stay fit long enough
which is why we need to go out and
get a world class
striker.
I for one would go and
get him straight away as Ben Yedder is an all round
striker a bag of tricks he plays in a lower team and scored a bag full of goals
which means he fought hard against better defenders to
get his goals Ben Yedder can come at you from any direction with either foot and score and he is good at set pieces two I would be ecstatically delighted if we sign him up as we would have our own Mahrez
i still hold the opinion the
striker we use is dependent on the opposition we play, for all the brilliance of Alex he has been shut out in several games by pressing arsenal and letting us having to resort to long balls
which he fails to
get on to, if teams stops arsenal build up, they stop arsenal with sanchez as the forward, however with both Alex and Giroud on the field we have the opportunity to switch styles without making changes.
I would give it a B rating, we
got a solid Midfielder and center back,
which is very good but it would have shot up to an A + if we bought Abumeyang as our top
striker.
I do nt know why, we have a very small team compared to other bug clubs of our caliber that alone can send a player off once he knows he's not going to play, our squad players mostly
get time to play during injury crisis... I could remember a point in time when we loaned Bendtner to Juventus, they already have four
strikers then, in
which minus Van Persie we have like half or no
striker..
Should Chelsea end up
getting a deal for Dortmund star Aubameyang over the line, it'll be interesting to see whether the Gabon international can replicate the form we see him achieve for the Bundesliga side last season,
which saw the
striker bag in impressive 31 goals in 32 league appearances.
If we Really want to Challenge for EPL this season then we should we ruthless with signing quality players, there are alot we can still convince to come even without Champions League, For the 1st time i will see Wenger and Arsenal trying to spend over the odds, like # 100 millon for a top Player, Even if we can't
get him
which my instinct tells me we won't then we should be aggressive with others and be fast Here are the followings that would make us challenge for EPL next Season 1) A World Class
Striker, Realistic: AUBAMEYANG.
Should this even be a topic?Giroud is a player of average quality always surrounded by good players.I just don't get. It's as if only Arsenal fans rate him. This was a player who was bought to be the leading
striker at Arsenal and after his years of failure
which many deny he's now become a super sub?How laughable is that. From failure to super sub.If the so called world class
striker we're signing goes out with an injury for about five months who comes in then.It seems to me people lack vision. Why is it always Giroud Giroud Giroud? After so many seasons people are still debating what souldn't even be debatable.I've lost count of the number of times he's been talked about here. This is the problem with our club. It's just not ruthless. This is a player who should have been gone long ago but due to him being French he still
gets the chances. We won't miss him when he goes and I'd like to see if he'd stand out in a smaller club.
Can't chuba akpom come from bench... i wud feel we shud give kid a chance... plus if we are to go 4 a «WC»
striker we should first sell giroud... coz den he is of no use... coz wud prefer walcot any time coz of his pace and welbz coz he can hold up the ball in front «like» giroud plus he is a better runner nd confident his striking can only
get better... 4 me giroud is of no use to dis team coz we are developing into more of a counter-attacking type wid help player like coq available... so better first
get a DM
which shud be our prime requirement....
am tired of wenger.the man has
got good skills, but somehow he fails to address basic issues in the team like buying a
striker and a cdm in the last summer.at one time, arsenal had good squad but had a keeper who at times committed mistakes i.e almunia.then after ozil came and arsenal were first in december, all wenger had to do was buy a pacy
striker with eye for goal.but wenger did nt so obviously and instead bought an injured kallstrom.agreed ppl fans will keep saying managers shud hav played this guy or that one and so.but in case of wenger, its abt ignoring team issues t (to prove a point he can win without listening to critics and the fans
which he never will), and then playing players out of form, out of position, and buying players that do nt fit ur style like giroud!!
He pulled the two defenders away to allow griezeman to
get a free header on goal and then out jump two defenders to set of griezeman second, base on the commentators action it shows a bias against giroud, we as fans also do it
which is quite unfair, he does contribute to arsenal and the french team massively even if he is not our preferred
striker
We are the most incompetent club when u think we was playing 4-2-31 and we needed a lacazette type
striker to complete the team then we change to 3 -4-3
which ment we needed a welbeck type that's
got finishing but instead brought lacazette lol it's a shambles welbeck is are best CF in a 3 -4-3 it's obvious so unless wenger is gonna go back to 4 -2-3-1 lacazette was a waste of money for a club that hates spending money
Strikers need service,
which they were
getting with Rose and Walker.
Our club do nt value the expense of trust and we always give it in the cheap sadly.lets hope for additions a
striker, a cb, a winger and i hope we do nt
get mediocre players coz at this time who or
which team would love loze its best player now?
Ok he might sometimes
get get beaten by a messi or a really quick striker, but TELL ME WHICH DEFENDER DOES NT SOMETIMES GET BEATE
get get beaten by a messi or a really quick striker, but TELL ME WHICH DEFENDER DOES NT SOMETIMES GET BEATE
get beaten by a messi or a really quick

WHICH DEFENDER DOES NT SOMETIMES

GET BEATEN?!
The only
strikers who
get consistent approval on this site are lewandowski and aubameyang, neither of
which are available.
Rumors of Chuba Akpom being loaned out to Hull City (
which would be a good move for him to
get experience) make me think a
striker may, indeed, still be heading our way soon.
How to
get the best out of Walcott: Sell him to a club his constant absenses will not impact the season of, a club who plays against clubs with a no physical contact policy, a club
which doesn't mind hearing his deluded belief he is a
striker.
