This is an incredibly difficult question to answer for a variety of reasons, most importantly because over the years our once vaunted «beautiful» style of play has become a shadow of it's former self, only to be replaced by a less than stellar «plug and play» mentality where players play out of position and adjustments / substitutions are rarely forthcoming before the 75th minute... if you look at our current players, very few would make sense in the traditional Wengerian system... at present, we don't have the personnel to move the ball quickly from deep - lying position, efficient one touch midfielders that can make the necessary through balls or the disciplined and pacey forwards to stretch defences into wide positions, without the aid of the backs coming up into the final 3rd, so that we can attack the defensive lanes in the same clinical fashion we did years ago... on this current squad, we have only 1 central defender on staf, Mustafi, who seems to have any prowess in the offensive zone or who can even pass two zones through so that we can advance play quickly out of our own end (I have seen some inklings that suggest Holding might have some offensive qualities but too early to tell)... unfortunately Mustafi has a tendency to get himself in trouble when he gets overly aggressive on the ball... from our backs out wide, we've seen pace from the likes of Bellerin and Gibbs and the spirited albeit offensively stunted play of Monreal, but none of these players possess the skill - set required in the offensive zone for the new Wenger scheme which requires deft touches, timely runs to the baseline and consistent crossing, especially when Giroud was playing and his ratio of scored goals per clear chances was relatively low (better last year though)... obviously I like Bellerin's future prospects, as you can't teach pace, but I do worry that he regressed last season, which was obvious to Wenger because there was no way he would have used Ox as the right side wing - back so often knowing that Barcelona could come calling in the off - season, if he thought otherwise... as for our midfielders, not a single one, minus the more confident Xhaka I watched played for the Swiss national team a couple years ago, who truly makes sense under the traditional Wenger model... Ramsey holds onto the ball too long, gives the ball away cheaply far too often and abandons his defensive responsibilities on a regular basis (doesn't score enough recently to justify): that being said, I've always thought he does possess a little something special, unfortunately he thinks so too... Xhaka is a little too slow to ever boss the midfield and he tends to telegraph his one true strength, his long ball play: although I must admit he did get a bit better during some points in the latter part of last season... it always made me wonder why whenever he played with Coq Wenger always seemed to play Francis in a more advanced role on the pitch... as for Coq, he is way too reckless at the wrong times and has exhibited little offensive prowess yet finds himself in and around the box far too often... let's face it Wenger was ready to throw him in the trash heap when injuries forced him to use Francis and then he had the nerve to act like this was all part of a bigger Wenger constructed plan... he like Ramsey, Xhaka and Elneny don't offer the skills necessary to satisfy the quick transitory nature of our old offensive scheme or the stout defensive mindset needed to protect the defensive zone so that our offensive players can remain aggressive in the final third... on the front end, we have Ozil, a player of immense skill but stunted by his physical demeanor that tends to offend, the fact that he's been played out of position far too many times since arriving and that the players in front of him, minus Sanchez, make little to no sense considering what he has to offer (especially Giroud); just think about the quick counter-attack offence in Real or the space and protection he receives in the German National team's midfield, where teams couldn't afford to focus too heavily on one individual... this player was a passing «specialist» long before he arrived in North London, so only an arrogant or ignorant individual would try to reinvent the wheel and / or not surround such a talent with the necessary components... in regards to Ox, Walcott and Welbeck, although they all possess serious talents I see them in large part as headless chickens who are on the injury table too much, lack the necessary first - touch and / or lack the finishing flair to warrant their inclusion in a regular starting eleven; I would say that, of the 3, Ox showed the most upside once we went to a back 3, but even he became a bit too consumed by his pending contract talks before the season ended and that concerned me a bit... if I had to choose one of those 3 players to stay on it would be Ox due to his potential as a plausible alternative to Bellerin in that wing - back position should we continue to use that formation... in Sanchez, we get one of the most committed skill players we've seen on this squad for some years but that could all change soon, if it hasn't already of course... strangely enough, even he doesn't make sense given the constructs of the original Wenger offensive model because he holds onto the ball too long and he will give the ball up a little too often in the offensive zone... a fact that is largely forgotten due to his infectious energy and the fact that the numbers he has achieved seem to justify the means... finally, and in many ways most crucially, Giroud, there is nothing about this team or the offensive system that Wenger has traditionally employed that would even suggest such a player would make sense as a starter... too slow, too inefficient and way too easily dispossessed... once again, I think he has some special skills and, at times, has showed some world - class qualities but he's lack of mobility is an albatross around the necks of our offence... so when you ask who would be our best starting 11, I don't have a clue because of the 5 or 6 players that truly deserve a place in this side, 1 just arrived, 3 aren't under contract beyond 2018 and the other was just sold to Juve... man, this is theraputic because following this team is like an addiction to heroin without the benefits
Wenger is a great asset to Arsenal, but as a manager with his flaws, it may be better to move him into an other position at the club and get someone who knows how to prevent injuries wenger could but did nt — or with the tactical variety to prevent losses like at anfield and stamford bridge, or making the change of tactic when we just cant score against teams like leicester.

Maybe the ACM role would be better as he does like to run into the box and when he gets his scoring boots on then he can find the net on a regular basis... I'm frustrated by him though as he shown he could do the def side as well and I loved his performances for that too short a period of time.

When Samuel commented on why it was wrong to sell Lucas Perez you brought up stats between Walcott and Perez and in that you proved using the stats why Walcott is better. If Wenger didn't have blond love for some of his players then why did he keep benching Perez when he was performing yet the average guys always got a look in the squad. So if there are stats which prove Walcott is better aren't there stats which also prove Perez is better?Think about that. You also said Perez is not as good as some of us make out.The funny thing is yesterday we had an argument on Giroud and I also tried to imply that Giroud is not as good as we make out and you opposed. You always kept bringing stats up to defend him.Do you know if Bendtner or Chamakh had scored 25 goals for Arsenal in any season they'd still have been regarded as average. You know why?Because quality has nothing to do with stats and is just a kind pf talent or state. It seems to me that you think you know it all.You also denied the fact that Wenger likes French players and that if Perez was French he wouldn't have been out in one season stating other players as examples. It seems to me that you deny things which are clear for everyone to see.If you think you know better than everyone go and teach Wenger how to win the trophy this seaWhen Samuel commented on why it was wrong to sell Lucas Perez you brought up stats between Walcott and Perez and in that you proved using the stats why Walcott is better. It seems to me that you deny things which are clear for everyone to see.If you think you know better than everyone go and teach Wenger how to win the trophy this seawhen he was performing yet the average guys always got a look in the squad. It seems to me that you deny things which are clear for everyone to see.If you think you know better than everyone go and teach Wenger how to win the trophy this season.

Even without injury Giroud is not good enough, he's not scored a single goal in 7 straight games, his best season in terms of goals as a professional came when Montpellier won the league even then he scored 21 goals in the French league so it's debatable if he would have gotten to 20 this season!
if you watch arsenal place I see so much space and no runs no runs at all only when in the box if you watch Leicester they are always makeing runs all over the place that's how you score goals against a team like Southampton they controlled the game it was not unlucky just like chelsea can do control the game and won arsenal players don't believe they can win the title the players in that team play without heart you know why because Im sure wenger tells them becareful we don't need anymore Injurys what kind of mentality is that also I will pick out Ramsey he is playing like a player who is leaveing the club he and flamini just don't work Ramsey is not playing good at all wenger can blame make excuses but truth is he is the manager he make the tactics and he gets it wrong all the time giroud has no pace none bench him against some teams and play pure pace make runs ox Walcott but they don't Walcott has lost it his pace has gone its clear or he fears I jury how if a player is fit put your all in forget injury if you get Injured then so be it but if your fit and your Walcott run put yourself about wenger should leave because he.

Players scores Chech 8.5 top saves when needed Monreal 7 good steady game as always Mert 6 did ok The boss 6 looked tired Bel 7.5 good game needs work on crossing Walcot 5 did less than iwobi Cmpbell 7.5 worked hard, in front of ox and walcott anyway Flamini 7 steady Ox 4 poor all game not a clue how he gets a game Ramsey 5 very selfish player, if barca pay 50m take it and sigh Barkley for 35 Giroud 6.5 missed very good chance and doesn't hold the ball up at important times but had an ok performance Iwobi 7 did more than walcott in 15 mins Chambers not on long enough
Granite Xhaka saved us last night, i'm not a great fan of Xhaka but i thought the game changed as soon as he come on, on Wilshere i have been his biggest supporter but last night he let me down badly, he made no space for himself he was just out for the fresh air, i thought Sead had a lousy game to even do he scored, it was a sad night for Arsenal supporters and football to watch that, there were plenty of alarms raised when we played Ostersunds FK in the first leg in the second half, AW should of known better to prepare his team and should get off his ass and shout a bit from the side line like all passionate managers do when they send a message to their players

Giroud is a good player but far too specific and predictable for the style Arsenal play in, Looking at the hate he received from France was that Arsenal fans did it because he did not turn up for us for more than 10 matches but when i watch Giroud play for France he gets a goal in almost every game and last major fixture he scored against Germany.
To me, ramsey plays better when strictly in the CM role and coming from behind the play, rather than getting out in front of it and constantly trying to score.

i know there is not much to write about but people try to find some kind of» story» when there is none, national managers don, t think about the players clubs they, ll play their best players if they are available not worrying if they have a game soon afterwards they already don, t have enough time with their players so have to make most of it, i believe wenger is managing giroud, getting him fit, fresh in view of a long season and is doing it while he has most of the squad fit im sure we will reap the rewards with giroud not having a spell of 10 games without scoring.
in the epl, for 3 seasons giroud is a 13 goal per season striker, 20 is all competitions at best, that means 1 goal every 3 matches, that will not win any leaque, henry scored 27 when we last won, unless we get production from somewhere else, no way to win it...
And for all of u calling for girouds head, we beta hope he pick up his form, since he has been outta form we ve been having difficulty scoring goals, when he plays well... arsenal play well just as wenger said sometyms ago @ least till we get a beta replacement
Arsenal went on score twice more, with Welbeck getting the final goal as well, but when Arsene Wenger was asked after the game if he thought that it was really a penalty, he replied: «There's two things: was it a penalty or not?
Usually when we can get on the score sheet, it's probably going to end up good for our team.»
