This morning I
got up in time
to catch Aaron just
as he awoke and
got him out of his pjs and diaper in time
to go on the
potty.
It «clicked» with our 2 1/2 year old son by the end of the first day, much
to our amazement
as the only form of
potty training before this was begging him
to tell us when he need
to go and in return
getting a firm «NO».
You may encounter some new challenges, such
as twins that bite or run in different directions, but you can also look forward
to getting more sleep and saying goodbye
to diapers once
potty training commences.
I'm so happy
to have the side snaps
as we just can't seem
to get the poop in the
potty part yet.
So in other words,
as the child is learning the skills of
potty training, if the parent
gets into a conflict over the child because they're not wiping or wiping correctly, that can make the child very resistant
to the process.
There is such a rush these days
to get children sleeping through the night, weaned off the breast, eating solid foods,
potty trained, reading independently, and on and on, that we seem
to have lost the ability
to simply enjoy life
as it happens and let our children do the same.
The reason you want
to do this is so that you child understands what an «accident» is, why it's not what
potty training is about, and that when s / he has an accident, s / he doesn't just
get to start playing again... she or he needs
to help clean - up
as well.
Starting with the Game of Thrones,
as I like
to call it, we're
getting nowhere with
potty training.
This can become frustrating for parents
as they do not have a way
to get their toddler
to poop in the
potty.
As you start
to teach your child
to use the bathroom independently it helps
to have a few key items on hand: a child - sized
potty chair or seat attachment, of course, big kid pants (ones that will
get your child excited
to drop those diapers) and a step or stool that will allow your little one
to reach the sink and wash up on their own are all good things
to have from day one.
My daughter is quite picky about cleanliness and smells, so
as you can imagine, she needed
to get use
to the public bathrooms that had all ranges of cleanliness, but generally, I would try
to potty her in clean facilities (hotel lobbies, anyone?).
As if there were one right way, one trick, one secret
to getting kids
to nap, or
to potty train them or
to get them
to do their homework.
It sounds
as if you have a normal twenty - seven month old that hasn't quite
got the whole idea of
potty training down, or he has an issue with something else going on in his life that he's decided he wants
to take control.
But my 3 - year - old is quite needy, is FINALLY starting
to get potty trained, is pushing the boundaries... and many days there's no such thing
as a break with him.
Use it
as a teachable moment
to explain what you're doing with each step so that once you
get her started on the
potty, it will be familiar
to her.
The only time she 1/2 made it was she saying «go
potty» and just
as she
got in front of it she started
to wet and I just put her down on the
potty.
My girl started using the
potty at daycare before she was 2 — our daycare provider's take was that this was S's way
to get undivided attention from the big girls, by sitting on the
potty and chatting with them (
as much
as one can chat at 20 months....).
you might be surprised
as to how this routine at school
gets him interested in the
potty at home.
Again, this can be done for a week or so
as well,
to further
get her comfortable with the
potty seat.
This isn't
as common, generally, your one size diaper will
get your baby
to the
potty training age.
Since I have a girl and boy, I was
getting one
potty chair and one
potty seat so we have two
potties available at all times
as I know they'll want
to go at the same time.
If you keep his mind on this, he will recognize the urge
to pee sooner and you'll be able
to get him
to a
potty sooner
as well.
You can start with pre-
potty training, such
as talking about starting
to use the
potty, watching
potty training videos and reading
potty training books,
as well
as getting a
potty training doll and letting her practice with that too.
There are the
potty chairs and
potty seats,
as well
as potty step stools or
potty calendars
to get.
It being quite a tough task for working parents, so it needs
to get the child trained in
potty habits
as soon
as possible.

to make it

to go.

get older they will already know how

potty and will be going on their own.

potty accidents happen away from home or in the car, do not make a scene and clean the accident

as possible, while also making sure

to a bathroom so that they can finish going.

as parents we
get to figure out just what little tricks we need
to use
to prompt our little guy or gal
to poop in the
potty.

potty training, toddlers are likely
to get the hang of weeing on the
potty before they feel happy
to poo on it
as wees are fairly instant and easy
to do.
Of all the random parenting things
to have no issues whatsoever with, I
got potty training
as my free pass.
I still use cloth diapers
as a back up and at night, though during the day when it's just him and i at home he's bare - bummed a lot:) He's 7 1/2 months old now and knows
to use the
potty - he wakes up dry from naps but will pee
as soon
as I
get him on the
potty - I keep one in the car
as well and he'll even use it on the go!
Also, so you
get up in the middle of the night between feedings
to take your newborn
to the
potty when they wake every 2 - 5 hours

I do not use pull ups at night because I am afraid she will use this
as an excuse
to not
get up in the night and also I'm afraid it will regress the daytime
potty train.
