Tactically Wenger is not on par with the current leading managers in world football fact, but if we are discussing the team mentality then isn't it true that
players tend to reflect the attitude
of the managers, if we look at the leading managers how many
of them sit down
holding themselves instead
of getting up to spur there team on, how many
of them are critical about individual
player performances as well as team performances, Wenger either cheers them on or does nothing, he may say that he still has passion and desire for the club and that maybe true, but rarely does that passion and desire become apparent, particularly on the pitch.
Arteta has served us well, he is not a DM but he has filled in that role better than we could
of asked off him BUT he is not a

This is an incredibly difficult question to answer for a variety
of reasons, most importantly because over the years our once vaunted «beautiful» style
of play has become a shadow
of it's former self, only to be replaced by a less than stellar «plug and play» mentality where
players play out
of position and adjustments / substitutions are rarely forthcoming before the 75th minute... if you look at our current
players, very few would make sense in the traditional Wengerian system... at present, we don't have the personnel to move the ball quickly from deep - lying position, efficient one touch midfielders that can make the necessary through balls or the disciplined and pacey forwards to stretch defences into wide positions, without the aid
of the backs coming up into the final 3rd, so that we can attack the defensive lanes in the same clinical fashion we did years ago... on this current squad, we have only 1 central defender on staf, Mustafi, who seems to have any prowess in the offensive zone or who can even pass two zones through so that we can advance play quickly out
of our own end (I have seen some inklings that suggest
Holding might have some offensive qualities but too early to tell)... unfortunately Mustafi has a tendency to
get himself in trouble when he
gets overly aggressive on the ball... from our backs out wide, we've seen pace from the likes
of Bellerin and Gibbs and the spirited albeit offensively stunted play
of Monreal, but none
of these
players possess the skill - set required in the offensive zone for the new Wenger scheme which requires deft touches, timely runs to the baseline and consistent crossing, especially when Giroud was playing and his ratio
of scored goals per clear chances was relatively low (better last year though)... obviously I like Bellerin's future prospects, as you can't teach pace, but I do worry that he regressed last season, which was obvious to Wenger because there was no way he would have used Ox as the right side wing - back so often knowing that Barcelona could come calling in the off - season, if he thought otherwise... as for our midfielders, not a single one, minus the more confident Xhaka I watched played for the Swiss national team a couple years ago, who truly makes sense under the traditional Wenger model... Ramsey
holds onto the ball too long, gives the ball away cheaply far too often and abandons his defensive responsibilities on a regular basis (doesn't score enough recently to justify): that being said, I've always thought he does possess a little something special, unfortunately he thinks so too... Xhaka is a little too slow to ever boss the midfield and he tends to telegraph his one true strength, his long ball play: although I must admit he did
get a bit better during some points in the latter part
of last season... it always made me wonder why whenever he played with Coq Wenger always seemed to play Francis in a more advanced role on the pitch... as for Coq, he is way too reckless at the wrong times and has exhibited little offensive prowess yet finds himself in and around the box far too often... let's face it Wenger was ready to throw him in the trash heap when injuries forced him to use Francis and then he had the nerve to act like this was all part
of a bigger Wenger constructed plan... he like Ramsey, Xhaka and Elneny don't offer the skills necessary to satisfy the quick transitory nature
of our old offensive scheme or the stout defensive mindset needed to protect the defensive zone so that our offensive
players can remain aggressive in the final third... on the front end, we have Ozil, a
player of immense skill but stunted by his physical demeanor that tends to offend, the fact that he's been played out
of position far too many times since arriving and that the
players in front
of him, minus Sanchez, make little to no sense considering what he has to offer (especially Giroud); just think about the quick counter-attack offence in Real or the space and protection he receives in the German National team's midfield, where teams couldn't afford to focus too heavily on one individual... this
player was a passing «specialist» long before he arrived in North London, so only an arrogant or ignorant individual would try to reinvent the wheel and / or not surround such a talent with the necessary components... in regards to Ox, Walcott and Welbeck, although they all possess serious talents I see them in large part as headless chickens who are on the injury table too much, lack the necessary first - touch and / or lack the finishing flair to warrant their inclusion in a regular starting eleven; I would say that,
of the 3, Ox showed the most upside once we went to a back 3, but even he became a bit too consumed by his pending contract talks before the season ended and that concerned me a bit... if I had to choose one
of those 3
players to stay on it would be Ox due to his potential as a plausible alternative to Bellerin in that wing - back position should we continue to use that formation... in Sanchez, we
get one
of the most committed skill
players we've seen on this squad for some years but that could all change soon, if it hasn't already
of course... strangely enough, even he doesn't make sense given the constructs
of the original Wenger offensive model because he
holds onto the ball too long and he will give the ball up a little too often in the offensive zone... a fact that is largely forgotten due to his infectious energy and the fact that the numbers he has achieved seem to justify the means... finally, and in many ways most crucially, Giroud, there is nothing about this team or the offensive system that Wenger has traditionally employed that would even suggest such a
player would make sense as a starter... too slow, too inefficient and way too easily dispossessed... once again, I think he has some special skills and, at times, has showed some world - class qualities but he's lack
of mobility is an albatross around the necks
of our offence... so when you ask who would be our best starting 11, I don't have a clue because
of the 5 or 6
players that truly deserve a place in this side, 1 just arrived, 3 aren't under contract beyond 2018 and the other was just sold to Juve... man, this is theraputic because following this team is like an addiction to heroin without the benefits
this window has just finished i am already thinking about who we will
get for the january window we might try for khedira on a really low offer as he is free agent almost would help boost numbers in midfield in the new year as we will no doubt need to filling the numbers about then also i will
hold my hands up and say i was wrong this morning for giving wenger stick and saying welbeck is rubbish i have been out in the cold light
of day and had a chance to reevaluate the situation and realized that this could be a canny shrew transfer on wenger behalf actually if wenger can turn the clock back and work his magic on welbeck and
get him scoring goals and improve his game then we could have a great underrated signing on our hands its wengers absolute trust in him that might be what makes him a great
player as this is something that he never had at old mordor if anybody can make him a world beater wenger can he loves this little pet projects improving
players against the odds welbeck has the skillset to be high class
player upfornt he just needs to work very hard on his finishing i think once he
gets a few goals under his belt he will settle in fine and he is a team
player you could put him on the left against man city to shore up that side and he will put in a great shift without a complaint that could be his biggest asset to us or on the right whenever we need him there ithinkwenger might start himon the left against city to protect the left back against navas and i bet you if he does a great job we will take a shine to him quickly i am hopeing he will be one
of those wenger gems that he finds and polishes up to a high finish i must admit i was annoyed as some other gunners were at not signing d / m and c / h but if wenger does win the league with this lot it will be his greatest win yet and what might play in to our hands is the unpredictable nature
of the league in the last few seasons if we
get on a good run at the right time we might be hard to stop look at city they should have never lost to stoke but the result is there in black and white for all to see and i think chelsea will hit the skids after a while to just because cesc and costa are doing well now thats there main threat but teams will work out how to stop them as the season goes on and chelsea will become predictable i think we might just do well this season after all
He is a
player who we can't afford to lose. The club knows this, the fans know this, and just as importantly so does Mesut Ozil. The fact that he will be in a position to
get himself a very nice Signing On Fee from whichever club he signs for after June means he will
get the financial rewards he always wanted.Who can blame him for
getting the very best for himself. If his abilities had been appreciated by the club and management earlier then the
player would have not been in the position we have now where the cards are all
held by him.To keep him will cost the club a huge signing on fee and colloidal wages but that is the price we must pay.We need him so pay him provided it is what SVEN M and RAUL advise.Im sure the
player himself would be impressed that these 2 are involved and the whole structure
of the club is moving forward.
I believe Arsene and his whole coaching management staff has had there time an should honourably leave. Please GOONERS sacrifice your support for the present teams chosen and if personally required make it known we are NOT happy / satisfied with
of how the club is handled. There is NO growth and half the
players are not premier league standard.looking at the top 6 clubs.Somebody
got to take the fall and it is not Kroenkie as we seen the money was spent. We buying where we had a little strength and where we really required (defensive) for a long time faith is put in people like Calum, Mustafi, bellerin,
Holding etc.. I feel for El Nenny who is hardworking with the wrong chemistry. The other 5 top clubs will never take these
players in there premier side.

So after that ramble about how Wenger can't drill
players, I want to see our young defenders go out on loan and
get that side
of training before it is «too late», Wenger isn't leaving before his contract is up and by then it could have cost us millions, loan out
Holding ASAP to give him game time and confidence while being drilled in how to defend.
It is certainly rather damning
of United's current style under Jose Mourinho that the
players need to
hold talks with each other about passing forwards more, but fans will at least be pleased to see them working hard to
get to the bottom
of the issues.
Yes, it is possible to
get a good
player on the cheap like
holding but if you wan't to win the premier league, you have to have one
of the best squads not to talk
of champions league.
I'm not sure what paper it was but they made a good point about the
players holding all the cards because
of Arsenals perceived lack
of ambition on
getting the biggest
players through the door, which we did then with these two, so could you imagine us buckling on the first contract negotiation to then lose them.
Yes — I don't really understand AFCON — not only is it
held at least twice as often as other big international sporting events, and sometimes more, if they decide they want to change the schedule, to not interfere with something else (not the
players club obligations, who pay their wages, perish the thought), but it is always
held at the peak
of the league season, as they say it maybe raining in summer, which I also don't
get, as it rains here all the time — I'm sure there are parts
of Africa which have reasonable weather during the summer — it's a big continent — South Africa must be fairly clement at that time.
He reckons that the current Arsenal side are being
held back by a mental barrier and until the boss and the
players find a way to
get around it then those major trophy goals
of the Premier League and Champions League are going to keep eluding us, a Sky Sports report explains.
