This window is especially interesting given all the drama of the season so far, Martin O'Neill and Alan Curbishley get their hands on some real money for the first time in their managerial careers, Chelsea get to address apparent squad depth problems, Manchester United can try to sign someone who isn't super old, and we're guessing Harry Redknapp is going to pick up a couple more dodgy deals for Portsmouth, while Reading, Sheffield United and Watford will hopefully spring a surprise or two.

I think only barca real or Bayern can tempt those players away from leicester, they would give at least a year to the club, but season after that they will move onto other club depending on their form next season. As for arsenal transfer i wouldn't want to listen to rumours as most of the times these rumours are just utter garbage.i want a certain rumour about Wolfsburg signing giroud to be true.Anyways if our idiotic manager has some sense left in him after an embarrassing season he should get a premium striker which the club needed for past 4 years. He need to put his ego aside and his old philosophy of waiting for players to develop. We need already established players in every department of our team.Penny pinching has cost us just pay the damn money get the players.I get the feeling next season is going to be harder and we have less chance of winning cause man city have had 2 seasons without premier league and guardiola is gonna bring more quality and hunger to that team.
Up front we have a few world - class players surrounded by some serious pretenders... Sanchez is by far the most accomplished player in our attack but the controversy surrounding his contractual mishandling could see him go before the window closes or most definitely by season's end... obviously a mistake by both parties involved, as Sanchez's exploits have never been more on display than in North London, but the club's irresponsible wage structure and lack of real intent have been the real undoing in this mess... Lacazette, who I think has some world - class skills as a front man, will only be as good as the players and system around him, which is troubling due to our current roster and Wenger's love of sideways passing... Walcott should have been sold years ago, enough said, and Welbeck should never have been brought in from the get - go... both of these players have suffered numerous injuries over their respective careers and neither are good enough to overcome such difficulties: not to mention, they both are below average first - touch players, which should be the baseline test for any player coming to a Wenger - led Arsenal team... Perez should have been played wide left or never purchased at all; what a huge waste of time and money, which is ridiculous considering our penny pinching ways and the fact that fans had been clamoring for a real striker for years... finally Giroud, the fact that he stills wears the jersey is a direct indictment of this club's failure to get things right... this isn't necessarily an attack on Giroud because I think he has some highly valued skills, but not for a team that has struggled to take their sideways soccer to the next level, as his presence slows their game even more, combined with our average, at best, finishing skills... far too often those in charge have either settled or chosen half - measures and ultimately it is us that suffer because no matter what happens Wenger, Gazidis and Kroenke will always make more money whereas we will always be the ones paying for their mistakes... so every time someone suggests we should just shut - up and support the team just think of all the sacrifices you've made along the way and simply reply... f *** off
3 League titles / 6 Fa cups and constant champions league last 16odd years out of 19 also but no matter what anyone says his time as our coach has come to an end even if we win the league which in fairness we have a great shot so going out of Europe could help us win the league for Wenger to leave on a high like fergie did... This has to be his last season in charge along with Stan the Conman... Money needs put into this squad to get it to the next level and a different direction because in all honesty when we beat Bayern they just did nt take their chances like they did last night and they already had a great squad and added to it in the summer with Costa etc... we had a real chance this year if we had brought in more than Cech and that is Wengers fault!
For my money and this is only personally speaking I feel that Walcott should get far more stick than Giroud Walcott has been «developing» for nearly ten years and especially this season just gone has done next to nothing, even when given a place in the starting line For my money and this is only personally speaking I feel that Walcott should get far more stick than Giroud Walcott has been «developing» for nearly ten years and especially this season just gone has done next to nothing, even when given a place in the starting line for nearly ten years and especially this season just gone has done next to nothing, even when given a place in the starting line up.
Although I've found it very cathartic to speak, vent and end occasionally rant about all things Arsenal, we need to act carefully and intelligently right now or we're going to get played by this club even worse than at present... the pro-Wengerites and the suits, who represent a considerable proportion of the season ticket holders, don't want to believe that there is no plan and that Wenger has mailed it in for several years now or that things are going to get much worse before they get better... why would they... many have spent a considerable sum buying some of the highest priced tickets in the World... they want to have a front row seat to see something special and to be seen doing so, which simply provides ample justification for the expense and the time invested... to many of them, Wenger is the sun in their soccer universe... his awkward disposition, misplaced arrogance and his utter lack of balls makes him a rather unusual cult figure, but the cerebral narrative seemed to embolden those who already felt pretty highly of themselves... many might not even of really liked football that much before his arrival and rarely games they weren't attending... as such, they desperately believe that Wenger, and only Wenger, can supply them with their required fix... if he goes, they were wrong and that's a tough pill to swallow... they would have to admit that they were duped... they will definitely resent whoever made them feel this way, but of course it will be too late by then... so when we go overboard with ridiculous comments bordering of anarchy, it scares the shit out of them and they shift their blame towards us rather than at those who really perpetrated this act of treason... we aren't the enemy... we simply woke much earlier and the reason our comments have gotten more vile in recent years is out of utter frustration... in order for any real change to occur at this club we need to bring as many supporters as possible with us or the big money interests will fade and our ultimate objective will be lost... so it's time to focus on the head instead of the heart for now
Why mention slow, every year Wenger adds something else to the squad, which enhance the squad, money is not a issue no more like 3 - 4 years ago, why not in one go fix the squad, get the average 20 + goals striker (ok got laca), get the beast of DM or the strong defensive leader in CB, No, Wenger waits for the players he has chosen to develop slowly, which continue to add up in years without the title.
te tomorrow never comes and despite the fact that Wenger has been brilliant, its time for a change now, trouble is that's where we are in a real quandary cos if wenger goes YOU KNOW we will get a manager who accepts what the board tells him and wont spend any more than Wenger, NOWAY will Klopp or Simione get involved unless there is money to spend and with our current Board that's not going to happen.
If Walcott demands more money on top of what he gets then let him go get what you can for him and move on he really hasn't done much since signing his last contract that took an eturnity to sort out
But easy to say negative things when your an addict of negative making negative statements we did nt win everything every year tottenham has been behind us till this year for 2o years mu went through 3 managers then got mourinho and he said hi i see you have billlions of dollars to spend why do nt you buy a team ill smile for three years make some dumb comments win a title chelsea not yet mu cause you spent more money than anyone else has except those city folks recently and play fall asleep football i mean wenger is great and haters gonna hate cause thats all they know to do they'll hate till we win the title then be happy for a day once its confirmed then say well we did nt win champions leauge or vice versa cause they re a negative addict they nead their dose to disassemble true success
I can only hope that this attempt is taken more seriously than the largely muted and clearly unsuccessful protests of late last season... although the plane writing escapade brought some much - needed attention to the matter, it failed to resonate with fence - sitters and those who had just recently fell off the Wenger truck... without a big enough showing of support the whole endeavor appeared relatively weak and poorly organized, especially to the major media outlets, whose involvement could have significantly changed what was to follow... but I get it, few wanted to turn on their club, let alone make a public display of their discord... problem is, they are preying on that vulnerability, in fact, their counting on you to keep your thoughts to yourself... who are you to tell these fat cats how to steal your money... they have worked long and hard to pull the wool over your eyes... they even went so far as to pay enormous sums of cash to your once beloved professor to be their corporate spokesmodel so that the whole thing would be more palatable... eventually the club made it appear as if this was simply a relatively small fringe group of highly radicalized supporters, which allowed the pro-Wenger element inside the club hierarchy to claim victory following the FA Cup win... unfortunately what has happened to this club can't be solved by FA Cups or a few players coming in, the very culture of this club needs to be changed and that starts at the top... in order to change the unhealthy and dysfunctional narrative that has absorbed this club we need to remove everyone who presently occupies a position of power... only then can we get back to the business of playing championship caliber football, which should always be the number one priority of this organization... on an important side note, one of the most devastating mistakes made in the final days of this hectic and poorly planned transfer window didn't have to do with the big name players like Sanchez or Lemar, but the fact that they failed to secure Jadon Sancho, who might even start for Dortmund this season... I think they might seriously regret this oversight... instead of spending so much time, energy and manpower pretending that they were desperately trying to make big moves, they once again lost the plot due to their all too familiar tunnel vision
I do nt know why im so disappointed i keep thinking every window he will do it splash big bring back the old days and especially this window with all the abuse he had got last season but no did nothing im the fool for getting my hopes up again you would think id learn by now, if we did pull off lemar and kept sanchez after buying lacazette and kolasanic id be delighted but keeping an unhappy sanchez isnt good hopefully some forgien club will come in for him in January but what happened at Liverpool was a disgrace i cant take any more its ruining my mood im depressed in disbelief at how stupid and soft centred we were making the exact same mistakes for 8 or 9 yrs ground hog day i cant cope we have leaked 8 goals in 3 games very worrying and the clown wont even play kolasanic i wanted wenger to spend big go out in a blaze of glory in 2 yrs time but this is embarrassing to me it looks like a money racket and we are the fools
For that money you could get a fantastic winger AND solid DM which would improve the club much more than getting a striker who will get 2 or 3 more goals than Giroud if all goes well.
I think Chelsea bid # 96 million I hope the bidding keeps going up It is sort of amusing as these clubs have more money than sense while get a really good striker for a much more reasonable price
Time for some brutal honesty... this team, as it stands, is in no better position to compete next season than they were 12 months ago, minus the fact that some fans have been easily snowed by the acquisition of Lacazette, the free transfer LB and the release of Sanogo... if you look at the facts carefully you will see a team that still has far more questions than answers... to better show what I mean by this statement I will briefly discuss the current state of affairs on a position - by - position basis... in goal we have 4 potential candidates, but in reality we have only 1 option with any real future and somehow he's the only one we have actively tried to get rid of for years because he and his father were a little too involved on social media and he got caught smoking (funny how people still defend Wiltshire under the same and far worse circumstances)... you would think we would want to keep any goaltender that Juventus had interest in, as they seem to have a pretty good history when it comes to that position... as far as the defenders on our current roster there are only a few individuals whom have the skill and / or youth worthy of our time and / or investment, as such we should get rid of anyone who doesn't meet those simple requirements, which means we should get rid of DeBouchy, Gibbs, Gabriel, Mertz and loan out Chambers to see if last seasons foray with Middlesborough was an anomaly or a prediction of things to come... some fans have lamented wildly about the return of Mertz to the starting lineup due to his FA Cup performance but these sort of pie in the sky meanderings are indicative of what's wrong with this club and it's wishy - washy fan - base... in addition to these moves the club should aggressively pursue the acquisition of dominant and mobile CB to stabilize an all too fragile defensive group that has self - destructed on numerous occasions over the past 5 seasons... moving forward and building on our need to re-establish our once dominant presence throughout the middle of the park we need to target a CDM then do whatever it takes to get that player into the fold without any of the usual nickel and diming we have become famous for (this kind of ruthless haggling has cost us numerous special players and certainly can't help make the player in question feel good about the way their future potential employer feels about them)... in order for us to become dominant again we need to be strong up the middle again from Goalkeeper to CB to DM to ACM to striker, like we did in our most glorious years before and during Wenger's reign... with this in mind, if we want Ozil to be that dominant attacking midfielder we can't keep leaving him exposed to constant ridicule about his lack of defensive prowess and provide him with the proper players in the final third... he was never a good defensive player in Real or with the German National squad and they certainly didn't suffer as a result of his presence on the pitch... as for the rest of the midfield the blame falls squarely in the hands of Wenger and Gazidis, the fact that Ramsey, Ox, Sanchez and even Ozil were allowed to regularly start when none of the aforementioned had more than a year left under contract is criminal for a club of this size and financial might... the fact that we could find money for Walcott and Xhaka, who weren't even guaranteed starters, means that our whole business model needs a complete overhaul... for me it's time to get rid of some serious deadweight, even if it means selling them below what you believe their market value is just to simply right this ship and change the stagnant culture that currently exists... this means saying goodbye to Wiltshire, Elneny, Carzola, Walcott and Ramsey... everyone, minus Elneny, have spent just as much time on the training table as on the field of play, which would be manageable if they weren't so inconsistent from a performance standpoint (excluding Carzola, who is like the recent version of Rosicky — too bad, both will be deeply missed)... in their places we need to bring in some proven performers with no history of injuries... up front, although I do like the possibilities that a player like Lacazette presents, the fact that we had to wait so many years to acquire some true quality at the striker position falls once again squarely at the feet of Wenger... this issue highlights the ultimate scam being perpetrated by this club since the arrival of Kroenke: pretend your a small market club when it comes to making purchases but milk your fans like a big market club when it comes to ticket prices and merchandising... I believe the reason why Wenger hasn't pursued someone of Henry's quality, minus a fairly inexpensive RVP, was that he knew that they would demand players of a similar ilk to be brought on board and that wasn't possible when the business model was that of a «selling» club... does it really make sense that we could only make a cheeky bid for Suarez, or that we couldn't get Higuain over the line when he was being offered up for half the price he eventually went to Juve for, or that we've only paid any interest to strikers who were clearly not going to press their current teams to let them go to Arsenal like Benzema or Cavani... just part of the facade that finally came crashing down when Sanchez finally called their bluff... the fact remains that no one wants to win more than Sanchez, including Wenger, and although I don't agree with everything that he has done off the field, I would much rather have Alexis front and center than a manager who has clearly bought into the Kroenke model in large part due to the fact that his enormous ego suggests that only he could accomplish great things without breaking the bank... unfortunately that isn't possible anymore as the game has changed quite dramatically in the last 15 years, which has left a largely complacent and complicit Wenger on the outside looking in... so don't blame those players who demanded more and were left wanting... don't blame those fans who have tried desperately to raise awareness for several years when cracks began to appear... place the blame at the feet of those who were well aware all along of the potential pitfalls of just such a plan but continued to follow it even when it was no longer a financial necessity, like it ever really was...
Draxler for Sanchez is fine as like for like and younger... if Ozil wants to go lets take a decision now and say sign or you wont be first choice... use that money to get a top quality CB as Kos is injured more and more... Thats it and then build a team... Reiss can be given cameo roles and I am sure Giroud / Welbeck will be happy if Walcott leaves.
NPB's owners will likely have little issue with any changes to the system like the above, since their teams will get $ 20 million either way: They might, however, ask for more than $ 20 million as the maximum posting fee if it looks like Ohtani is going to get a paltry signing bonus but then sign a deal for much more total money than the Nippon Ham Fighters will receive from his new team.
I think arsenal see the Champions League as a chance to make more money and as long as you are still in a competition you can win it, the farther you go in this competition is the more money, i do not see Wenger buying Cup tied players just to try for the EPL, he would want to get more for the money.
Personally I would say the guy just ain't worth it.That money can be used more wisely to get what we need.Lemar shouldn't have been a priority. The centre of the park should have been the problem. We are missing the point clearly.Even Bernardo Silva is as good as him yet went for lower.I've watched him and I know eventually he'll be world class but that doesn't mean he should be worth that bid because we have players his age wiyh more potential and cheaper.I remember people stating how Lacazette was not even worth # 45 some seasons back then all of a sudden he's signed for higher and people are behaving like they already like him.I'm sure the logic was that he was in the French league and possibly can't cut it at the top. This isn't money well spent at all.
Part of me thinks that AFC have put transfers on hold until they can raise more funds and go back with one last try for Lemar, I know it looks dead in the water because Monaco have raised their asking price but it might be the fact we do not have that money and without that money it is dead... but we get the money and it could be on again.
This is a decent article, yet the negatives from fans are still there, I would love to see arsenal like I did at the end of the 90's and at the beggining of the 2nd millennium but it doesn't mean in order to do so I would buy all the best players in world, I would get a rich owner to put his filthy money in, change the manager every 2 years to do so, there's so much wrong in football nowadays that yes it's still a sport but there's more focus on the filthy amounts of money being spent on clubs and players that I think attracts more attention than the game itself, now that is wrong and it's very wrong, even our owner though not like the arabs or Russians, yet the yank is clueless about the tradition of our game, it's just sad, so the fact that Wenger has remained for this long through all these changes that have occurred whilst the money game has elvolved, it makes me happy that arsenal do not spend stupid amounts of money on players, we don't try and buy the league, hell we even tight with wages and transfer fees, I'm glad it's like that, though our season ticket is a rip off I still don't mind it because at least we are not like the other supreme teams, there's a bit of tradition left at our club, yet you go to man shitty or Chelski, there is no tradition, it's all about buying ur way all the way to the top, on the other hand spuds don't know what to make of them besides how the heck have they finished above us?
I started googling way back in may who could we be buying gonzalo higuian, julio cesar and wayne rooney but realize going by history wenger just as no interest in buying world class players, he wants 2 buy d grade players and turn them up to koscienly nd nasri that will take years while da arsenal faithful pay handsome figures for dismal performances, fans allowed wenger 2 get away when he gets away with these lucky matches of fenerbache been strong on paper but a waste of tym on the pitch, also it happen at bayern but they put a slighty weak team but wenger runt his mouth around of how good da team was after that 2 - 0 win, not forgetting it was bould that got the team defense looking solid while wenger moan about referee decisions and no blame on team, I just feel we (arsenal) have allowed wenger and co to misuse us, so now our main target aim is benzema yet giroud plays more often than him for france, can any1 see how wenger is lowing our standards and expectations at arsenal, I wil be over da moon if wenger does not sign an extension wit us, after the gilberto days and disaterous results and teams we play, his approach to the game defensely which is pathetic and his annoying behaviour. So what if manu and chelski haven't really bought they are already strong it was seen last week now we should be worried about our selves since that villa defeat, jst imagine what the man's and london money maniac's are goin 2 do to us, I can see it already coming from wenger, if we find the right player we will buy him, after sept2, we didn't find da right player but the squad can challenge for the title, its so sick having 2 hear that crap, just take him psg, I just wish the fans would say we had enough of this bullshit transfer policies its time we stood up against these pigs of directors by protesting!
The statistics surrounding Wolves aren't pretty but at the odds I'll be getting more value for money by backing a team who have more options going forward.
