While I don't believe a fully
raw diet is feasible or even healthy for everyone, I do believe that
getting raw foods into your
diet on a daily basis can be very beneficial, and here is why:
I've been
on the anti candida
diet but it's so effing restricting and I DO feel better from eating non starchy / glutinous
foods FOR OBVIOUS REASONS THOUGH (because they're gross;)-RRB-, and eggs and sheep / goat dairy with live bacteria etc doesn't make me feel bad or gain weight (and actually makes me feel better when my adrenals
get messed up from all
rawing - I have low b12 and supplements don't seem to do anything but dairy seems to work though I'd prefer to be vegan) AND BUT I REALLY REALLY LOVE AND PREFER AND MISS THOSE GREEN SMOOTHIES OMG Especially because I like to exercise WHEN I CAN / when i'm physically able to, and when you recover from green smoothies and it's so clean and gorgeous and magical feeling... and then you try to recover
on standard
foods....
(And you don't have to be
on a
raw food diet to appreciate them and
get the health benefits.)

I actually had a thyroid problem and instead of taking meds, I relied
on a mostly
raw food plant
diet to heal me and that included daily intake of cruciforous vegetables and I was able to
get back to having a healthy thyroid, no medication needed.
I was put
on medication and after going vegan, eating a whole
foods plant based
diet with lots of
raw kale,
raw broccoli, etc. (as well as cooked kale, broccoli, etc.), I was able to
get off thyroid meds:)
It will appeal to anyone who wants to learn more about the
raw food diet or
get a kick - start
on a healthy lifestyle weight loss program.
On the
raw food diet I have heaps of energy, never
get colds, the flu or viruses.
This helps us to feel satiated and full for longer periods, and so they are perfect for
getting started
on the
raw food diet.
Not
getting enough calories
on a vegan
diet /
raw food lifestyle are another very easy mistake to make.
I did see a video
on (Dr. Gregor) website, quite sometime ago, and if I remember correctly I thought it stated when looking at what people ate 200hundred years ago their sodium intake was 200 mg — 500 mg daily and so is this what the goal should be with
getting natural sodium in whole plant
foods (and in mostly
raw plant
food diet)?
When a dog eating kibble is first introduced to lean
raw diets with vegetables, she may not have the gut microbes (mostly bacteria) to
get the most out of the
food, and will still have a large population of gut microbes that feed
on high - carbohydrate grains or starches that are not in Darwin's or in the dog's natural
diet.

I recently just started my 7 yr old Gordon Setter mix
on the
raw diet, haven't had any problems with runny stool, my trainer / boss introduced me to
raw I had never heard of it before, she gave me a chicken back to try, told me not to feed him for 24 hrs to
get the dry
food out of his system and that would decrease the chances of diarrhea.
I am a firm believer in a
raw food diet, we have had our 5 month german shepherd
on it now for about a month, but he keeps
getting diarrhea.
The teller told me that if I put him
on a
raw food diet, then he would no longer
get runny poop.
I have a 10 yr old GSD and I did extensive research
on raw food diets and home cooked
diets to ensure I was giving her a complete and balanced meal (balance over time) and my method is making her a bone broth (she doesn't
get the cooked bones) with fresh herbs and veg that take my fancy at time of shop and I do add some brown rice as she's a large dog and I want to ensure she
gets enough solid
food which is cooked in a slow cooker.
I am a fan of the
raw diet for all of my dogs, different ages and sizes and I do not go to my vet for
food advice
on food either, I do my own research and consult with a holistic vet
on occasion to make sure I am
getting everything my dogs need.
