Per is very slow, I wish he was faster atimes but ppl under rate him a lot and please football is not all about pace; Per plays with his brains and we tend to applaud players who play with more aggression unfortunately he doesn't; I will use an eg, if it was Per marking Hazard instead of Koscielny in d build up to the chelsea penalty, he would have probably gone backwards trying to stay
on d
right side of hazard so he doesn't shoot and narrowing d angle so that our goalie easily picks up d
ball, that's how Per plays and to me that's subtle but intelligent option in that scenario but that style of play doesn't
get plenty credit.

I believe what makes cazorla the player he is, is the
ball rarely
gets lost at his feet, he can dribble in tight spaces or pass the
ball for that clear cut chance, plays with his
right or left, great at dead
ball situation, accurate shooting, his tempo is amazing too he will slow it down or speed it up based
on the circumstances, an intelligent player that can read the game a lack of pace but that means nothing when you are this talented!!
This is an incredibly difficult question to answer for a variety of reasons, most importantly because over the years our once vaunted «beautiful» style of play has become a shadow of it's former self, only to be replaced by a less than stellar «plug and play» mentality where players play out of position and adjustments / substitutions are rarely forthcoming before the 75th minute... if you look at our current players, very few would make sense in the traditional Wengerian system... at present, we don't have the personnel to move the
ball quickly from deep - lying position, efficient one touch midfielders that can make the necessary through
balls or the disciplined and pacey forwards to stretch defences into wide positions, without the aid of the backs coming up into the final 3rd, so that we can attack the defensive lanes in the same clinical fashion we did years ago...
on this current squad, we have only 1 central defender
on staf, Mustafi, who seems to have any prowess in the offensive zone or who can even pass two zones through so that we can advance play quickly out of our own end (I have seen some inklings that suggest Holding might have some offensive qualities but too early to tell)... unfortunately Mustafi has a tendency to
get himself in trouble when he
gets overly aggressive
on the
ball... from our backs out wide, we've seen pace from the likes of Bellerin and Gibbs and the spirited albeit offensively stunted play of Monreal, but none of these players possess the skill - set required in the offensive zone for the new Wenger scheme which requires deft touches, timely runs to the baseline and consistent crossing, especially when Giroud was playing and his ratio of scored goals per clear chances was relatively low (better last year though)... obviously I like Bellerin's future prospects, as you can't teach pace, but I do worry that he regressed last season, which was obvious to Wenger because there was no way he would have used Ox as the
right side wing - back so often knowing that Barcelona could come calling in the off - season, if he thought otherwise... as for our midfielders, not a single one, minus the more confident Xhaka I watched played for the Swiss national team a couple years ago, who truly makes sense under the traditional Wenger model... Ramsey holds onto the
ball too long, gives the
ball away cheaply far too often and abandons his defensive responsibilities
on a regular basis (doesn't score enough recently to justify): that being said, I've always thought he does possess a little something special, unfortunately he thinks so too... Xhaka is a little too slow to ever boss the midfield and he tends to telegraph his one true strength, his long
ball play: although I must admit he did
get a bit better during some points in the latter part of last season... it always made me wonder why whenever he played with Coq Wenger always seemed to play Francis in a more advanced role
on the pitch... as for Coq, he is way too reckless at the wrong times and has exhibited little offensive prowess yet finds himself in and around the box far too often... let's face it Wenger was ready to throw him in the trash heap when injuries forced him to use Francis and then he had the nerve to act like this was all part of a bigger Wenger constructed plan... he like Ramsey, Xhaka and Elneny don't offer the skills necessary to satisfy the quick transitory nature of our old offensive scheme or the stout defensive mindset needed to protect the defensive zone so that our offensive players can remain aggressive in the final third...
on the front end, we have Ozil, a player of immense skill but stunted by his physical demeanor that tends to offend, the fact that he's been played out of position far too many times since arriving and that the players in front of him, minus Sanchez, make little to no sense considering what he has to offer (especially Giroud); just think about the quick counter-attack offence in Real or the space and protection he receives in the German National team's midfield, where teams couldn't afford to focus too heavily
on one individual... this player was a passing «specialist» long before he arrived in North London, so only an arrogant or ignorant individual would try to reinvent the wheel and / or not surround such a talent with the necessary components... in regards to Ox, Walcott and Welbeck, although they all possess serious talents I see them in large part as headless chickens who are
on the injury table too much, lack the necessary first - touch and / or lack the finishing flair to warrant their inclusion in a regular starting eleven; I would say that, of the 3, Ox showed the most upside once we went to a back 3, but even he became a bit too consumed by his pending contract talks before the season ended and that concerned me a bit... if I had to choose one of those 3 players to stay
on it would be Ox due to his potential as a plausible alternative to Bellerin in that wing - back position should we continue to use that formation... in Sanchez, we
get one of the most committed skill players we've seen
on this squad for some years but that could all change soon, if it hasn't already of course... strangely enough, even he doesn't make sense given the constructs of the original Wenger offensive model because he holds onto the
ball too long and he will give the
ball up a little too often in the offensive zone... a fact that is largely forgotten due to his infectious energy and the fact that the numbers he has achieved seem to justify the means... finally, and in many ways most crucially, Giroud, there is nothing about this team or the offensive system that Wenger has traditionally employed that would even suggest such a player would make sense as a starter... too slow, too inefficient and way too easily dispossessed... once again, I think he has some special skills and, at times, has showed some world - class qualities but he's lack of mobility is an albatross around the necks of our offence... so when you ask who would be our best starting 11, I don't have a clue because of the 5 or 6 players that truly deserve a place in this side, 1 just arrived, 3 aren't under contract beyond 2018 and the other was just sold to Juve... man, this is theraputic because following this team is like an addiction to heroin without the benefits
Although I've found it very cathartic to speak, vent and end occasionally rant about all things Arsenal, we need to act carefully and intelligently
right now or we're going to
get played by this club even worse than at present... the pro-Wengerites and the suits, who represent a considerable proportion of the season ticket holders, don't want to believe that there is no plan and that Wenger has mailed it in for several years now or that things are going to
get much worse before they
get better... why would they... many have spent a considerable sum buying some of the highest priced tickets in the World... they want to have a front row seat to see something special and to be seen doing so, which simply provides ample justification for the expense and the time invested... to many of them, Wenger is the sun in their soccer universe... his awkward disposition, misplaced arrogance and his utter lack of
balls makes him a rather unusual cult figure, but the cerebral narrative seemed to embolden those who already felt pretty highly of themselves... many might not even of really liked football that much before his arrival and rarely games they weren't attending... as such, they desperately believe that Wenger, and only Wenger, can supply them with their required fix... if he goes, they were wrong and that's a tough pill to swallow... they would have to admit that they were duped... they will definitely resent whoever made them feel this way, but of course it will be too late by then... so when we go overboard with ridiculous comments bordering of anarchy, it scares the shit out of them and they shift their blame towards us rather than at those who really perpetrated this act of treason... we aren't the enemy... we simply woke much earlier and the reason our comments have
gotten more vile in recent years is out of utter frustration... in order for any real change to occur at this club we need to bring as many supporters as possible with us or the big money interests will fade and our ultimate objective will be lost... so it's time to focus
on the head instead of the heart for now
No no no, ozil doesn't belong
on the wing, he won't track back, and he plays
ball to feet, i don't want to see the same old ozil
gets passes it to centre, then to
right wing, then back to center!

on the
ball, thus not only must his feeders be harassed, but when he
get the
ball, Mustafi should be
right there.
That's
right good old sourness pass and kick... Don't need to listen to this complete and utter managerial flop
on anything... That said wilshere has been poor this tournament doesn't look for the
ball and has lost his turn if once to go past players in tight positions... He should be worried if he can't
get these back... Hoping it's just the lay off
Auba did play
on the
right before going CF and he scored plenty still... so the
right side of 2 AM just behind the CF will see him
get plenty of the
ball and in positions where he can be a threat, either driving through and shooting or using that skill and intelligence to pick the pass.
We have to play WHU 2 days after so resting Chambers to me would be ideal as we know WHU will pump
balls into the box and we'll need arial dominance against WHU in our own box, also our fullbacks for that game will need to make sure they do nt
get overloaded by their fullbacks... Just look at some of the crosses Jenkinson has been putting in (I know Jenkinson would be
on our left, Gibbs side, WHU fullbacks have both been doing well though) I feel Chambers would
get overloaded
on there left (our
right) but Debuchery has the experience to deal with it.
Apart from our back four, Couquelin and Sanchez, they just leisurely stroll up to opponents and only some of the time, whereas all 10 of Chelseas player are
right on our heels or toes, when we receive the
ball, and they are quick to
get back behind the
ball.
He did just manage to
get his foot
on the top of the
ball, but not before plowing through the back of the
right - back.
I can't stand welbeck for one reason he's not better than what we have but if you played a front two of welbeck and Sanchez then Cambpell left and Walcott or chaimbo
right that would give us a huge counter attacking style with lots of skill and pace, but here is the problem to do this you need big strong DM to win the
ball back when we defend and we do t have them, flaming is reckless and
getting old, Arteta is good
on the Bala but not quick or strong enough, please don't say Diaby as we all know he will be inj soon again, then also what to do with Ozil and Corzola?
Elneny coquelin Ramsey xhaka will not
get a football club top 4 bcoz the balance ain't ready
right it was so obvious bs L City that we need another's midfielder that's holds the
ball and can pass forward directly with defensive positioning even nzonzi would cost more than 20mil it's
getting real boring being just short every season when ur in the hardest league
on the planet
Silva was played
on the wings in some games since he moved to City, he is so energetic, all over the pitch, he moves from Left to
Right into the # 10 position and once he
gets that
ball he will keep it and make things happen, it does not matter where he
gets that
ball, it might be
on the Left,
Right and in the Middle but will make things happen..
I would play chambers in dm position alongside ramsey with ozil having free role behind sanchez and ox
on right that gives us plenty of pace and will allow ozil to
get on the
ball more and produce his magic passes he will be much more influential then stuck out
on the wing espec as he is poor at tracking back so lets play to his strengths that will
get the best out of him and in turn create more chances for forwards!
Ospina was
on for the injured Cech and he and Bellerin
got in a
right old muddle to allow the
ball to be rolled in by Robson - Kanu.
But let's
get one thing straight that does not mean ramsey is a class act etc etc far from it he is bang average and yes wenger is purely playing him becuase of his work rate nothing else, the guy is clumsy, dilly dallys
on the
ball too often slowing things down if it wasn't for the excellent bellerin the
right hand side would be non existent.
I do mind him being a non-dynamic player once he
gets the
ball — he'll shoot, drive
right (straight line, dominant hand, only when he has space), pass from a stationary position (rarely when
on the move), or hand the
ball off.
Mickelson insisted he was
right,
got down
on his knees and knocked his
ball «100 yards the wrong way... three fairways over and made like a 20 - footer for a double.»
Nothing like one underachiever blowing smoke up the ass of another... we know that Ozil has some incredible technical gifts, but to be considered the best you have to bring more than just assists to the table... for me, a top player has to possess a more well - rounded game, which doesn't mean they need to be a beast
on both ends of the pitch, but they must have the ability to take their game to another level when it matters most... although he amassed some record - like stats early
on, it set the bar too high, so when people expected him to duplicate those numbers each year the pressure seemed to
get the best of our soft - spoken star... obviously that's not an excuse for what has happened in the meantime, but it's important to make note of a few things: (1) his best year was a transition year for many of the traditionally dominant teams in the EPL, so that clearly made the numbers appear better than they actually were and (2) Wenger's system, or lack thereof, didn't do him any favours; by playing him out of position and by not acquiring world - class striker and / or
right - side forward that would best fit an Ozil - centered offensive scheme certainly hurt his chances to repeat his earlier peformances, (3) the loss of Cazorla, who took a lot of pressure off Ozil in the midfield and was highly efficient when it came to
getting him the
ball in space, negatively impacted his effectiveness and (4) he likewise missed a good chunk of games and frankly never looked himself when he eventually returned to the field... overall the Ozil experiment has had mixed reviews and rightfully so, but I do have some empathy for the man because he has always carried himself the same way, whether for Real or the German National team, yet he has only suffered any lengthy down periods with Arsenal... to me that goes directly to this club's inability to surround him with the necessary players to succeed, especially for someone who is a pass first type of player; as such, this simply highlights our club's ineffective and antiquated transfer policies... frankly I'm disappointed in both Ozil and our management team for not stepping up when it counted because they had a chance to do something special, but they didn't have it in them... there is no one that better exemplifies our recent history than Ozil, brief moments of greatness undercut by long periods of disappointing play, only made worse by his mopey posturing like a younger slightly less awkward Wenger... what a terribly waste
When Arsene doesn't
get the balance
right and we have Giroud as the 9 (constantly coming back to
get the
ball allowing the opposing back line to push forward and compress the space), and Ramsey
on the wing (cutting in or drifting in to
get on the
ball) that's 2 of the 3 front men coming back and drifting inward, which compresses the space where Mesut operates.
