They are socialists, dislike the government, large corporations,
organized religion and anyone who tells them to stop screwing around and
get a real job.
Could it be that they are
getting bored with the illogicality of
organized religion?
In fact, what I said could pertain to all
organized religions, now that you've
gotten antagonistic.
Without the brainwashing effect
organized religions have on it's followers, this would never have
gotten so big.
That being said, I know that people will ALWAYS do terrible things, but hopefully by
getting rid of
organized religions we would make it hard for terrible people to geta footing and develop followers to spread the scale of those bad things.
Can we honestly say if we
get rid of
organized religion that these problems simply disappear?
I used to be unsure about whether there was a god, and as I
got older and approached my late twenties, I decided I was not going to believe or participate in any
organized religion.
a set of values, beliefs, and structure in a person's life in order to give them direction and a sense of right and wrong is fine, but
organized religions are no more than large corporations, and like any large corporation are only focused on their bottom line... trying to control the public and extract as much money as they can from them by any means necessary... promoting fear, uncertainty, hate and a sense that they alone can offer salvation... for a price (although they are very cleaver about
getting to this hidden and unspoken cost... after all these hundreds of years they have perfected their craft well!)
I mention, only because my... paradigm (I'm not much on beliefs, in the usual
organized religion sense)... includes a «Divine» of my own definition, that equates to something like «awe of life, love, and knowing that there is much we don't know» (< — sorry, not the easiest thing for me to
get into words, hopefully that
gets the gist of it) that I don't see as a «personal other», but, in my paradigm, I see that Divine as being systemic to everything, hence insights from what I learn / experience can be termed as the Divine acting.
It's nut jobs like this that give christianity a bad name, which in my point of view is good,
organized religion is evil, and the faster we
get rid of
religion the better this world will be.
I
got the h - ll away, far away from any
organized religion and even fellow believers.
Marx and Engels never
get tired of noting the baseness of
organized religion and the extent of its hypocrisy.
I think that's where we have to draw the line... younger people and much of the educated,
get it... but I think «
organized»
religions will pay a price for their intolerance down the road... as people leave... in disgust.
Those of us striving for spirtuality over
organized practice may be simply
getting back to the roots of all
religion.
If you're on the
organized religion bandwagon, you don't EVER
get to call someone else out for «avoid [ing] having to think too hard about having to decide».
The use of your religious criteria is the central problem with all
organized religions, ESPECIALLY evangelical fundamentalist — either Christian, Muslim, or Scientology (all banes to any society)-- where some allegedly «religiously educated and therefore holy» person
gets to command the suggestible faithful, usually to the direct benefit of the alleged «religiously educated» person.
I'm a little newer than you in my journey away from
organized religion and while I may
get to where you are, I'm trying not to throw the entire idea of God out the window along with
organized religion.

get me wrong, I am not refering to any religious persons, I mean
organized religion as we know it.
Its a ploy that was used to try and
get people to be good help others and show them love and compassion which was then perverted by
organized religion to control people and teach hate.
I would hope that those who follow an
organized religion would restrain from
getting angry at a non-believer during a discussion.
I have fallen away from the church though the older I
get the more I realize that any
organized religion freaks me out, but here is the thing there are lots of homeless shelters and hot food banks that run off churches so they do some good for the community.

organized religion doesn't have an account on CNN — only people do.
The issue of
organized religion is like career politicians, once a group discovers they can make a career of it and make money it
gets corrupted.
Having grown up catholic (catholic schools and all) and later
getting disenfranchised from the church due to the hypocrisy and scandals, and then becoming a «devout» atheist after rejecting all the mythology and dangers of
organized religions, I have to admit that the current pope at least is trying to be reasonable.
Today, as always happens when a supreme ideal endeavors to
get itself expressed in human institutions, the general average of
organized religion is lower than the best.
This type of wedding is
getting increasingly common for couples who don't subscribe to any
organized religion, interfaith marriages or when an officiant at your place of worship won't preside over an outside ceremony.
