If the
signup bonus were a lot stronger, I'd probably just
get the card and figure out whether to keep it
over the next year.
There is no
signup bonus, but you can
get this card without a hard pull if you are an existing cardholder of their Visa Platinum or Platinum Rewards card, as long as your credit limit is currently
over $ 10,000.
Furthermore, it's possible to
get this card with the same
signup bonus all
over again, but amusingly enough, Barclays will not approve you if you leave your first card open.
What this means is that anyone can
get these points when the time comes by opening a few different credit cards with good
signup bonuses and the points will all transfer
over — as long as it's one of the transferable currencies I mentioned.
That
signup bonus can
get you a short - haul flight to the U.S. or Canada (e.g. a couple of provinces
over, or a bordering state).
Since that chat (starting the next day, and continuing since then with
over a dozen attempts) I have been unable to
get anyone at American Express to even acknowledge the 50,000
signup bonus on my screen much less the 100,000 point mailing.
Getting a big
bonus like this almost makes up for all of the
signup bonuses we've missed out on
over the past year!
