It goes without saying that it's no good to
get spirulina that's been grown in a contaminated water source (that can be filled with heavy metals).

I am wondering where
you get your Spirulina from and the brand name as I am having difficulty sourcing one that had been cultivated around Asia (mainly China) and would much prefer one from Hawaii?
I got some spirulina from a friend, so I was at loss about what to do with it at first.

Hi Rachel, I think you could start with one, so either
spirulina or chorella, and you can
get a small bag for about a fiver but it will last you much longer than you think!
Spirulina is a health - enhancing algae, composed of 62 % complete protein, which means that each spoonful of powder gives you a whole four grams of complete protein, so you'll
get all the essential amino acids that the body can't produce and can sometimes be lacking in an unbalanced plant diet.
I usually just include
spirulina in smoothies, where the flavor
gets masked by the sweetness of the fruit, but that also means that its magical, aquamarine color will
get lost among the numerous berries that I put in my smoothies.
My base is always frozen fruit because I like my smoothies cold, then I add a ton of greens, lemon,
