@Mariposa, If you are looking for more United Miles then you want to
get the Sapphire card because the points you earn (both
signup bonus and regular points from spending) can be transferred to the United program
on a 1:1 basis.
The Chase Sapphire Preferred ® credit card offers you a great

on this card within the first 3 months, you
get 50,000 reward points.
I
got this card for the
signup bonus years ago and back then, if I recall correctly, there was a 25 %
bonus on points redeemed for travel, not 5 %.
With that
signup bonus on the table,
getting this card for your regular spending is almost a no - brainer.
I'd be willing to pay the $ 450 annual fee
on an AA Exec if I could
get 75,000 AA miles as a
signup bonus and lounge access for a year.
That means that if you redeem the entire 50,000 mile
signup bonus on a travel purchase, you'll
get 2,500 miles back.
So I'm not sure whether
getting a WF business card will reset the clock
on getting the
signup bonus for a personal card.
I would also suggest avoiding any MS with Amex cards since they've been
getting tougher
on those that game

gets all the publicity — the second 50,000 Avios are only earned after a considerable amount of spend so you're better off waiting for a 75,000 — 100,000 offer

One way to
get started is to
get your hands
on a travel credit card that offers you a good deal
on miles, both
on a new

on future purchases made which give you mile

get an additional 1.5 % cashback
on all your purchases at the end of first year, which is essentially 3 % cashback

signup bonus is sufficient for 14 day stay at Pointbreaks hotels and you would
get back 7,000 points (10 % back
on all point redemptions)
Outside of meeting minimum spends, I don't charge that much
on cards... I will clear
bonuses with reloads to
get signup bonuses and have enough points for a redemption in mind, but my monthly spend isn't as high as many others.
While you can redeem Ultimate Reward points for cash back or merchandise, if you redeem them instead through the Ultimate Rewards travel portal, you're
getting $ 750 worth of value from the

New Chase Southwest restrictions will make it harder to earn

get the ball rolling, the Southwest Rapid Rewards ® Premier Credit Card provides a
signup bonus: Earn 40,000 points after you spend $ 1,000
on purchases in the first 3 months your account is open.
Since that chat (starting the next day, and continuing since then with over a dozen attempts) I have been unable to
get anyone at American Express to even acknowledge the 50,000
signup bonus on my screen much less the 100,000 point mailing.
Instead, you can ground the value you're
getting from a
signup bonus directly in your own experience: the amount of money you would otherwise spend
on nights you're able to pay for with a credit card's
signup bonus.
On top of that you'll also
get either $ 100 or $ 250
signup bonus, with the latter being targeted.
Getting a big
bonus like this almost makes up for all of the
signup bonuses we've missed out
on over the past year!
