books stand
out and you'll avoid all those pesky newbie mistakes.

books on the Kindle, so they haven't

hand, and I removed a couple to keep the Cloud because I don't anticipate re-reading them any time soon.
6) Price Well — launch the first
book of your new series at 99cents;
get some early reviews
on there by
handing out review copies before launch; buy some ads for the first couple weeks at that 99cent price point.
For example it drives me absolutely loopy in the fourth Harry Potter
book that the whole story is built
on the premise of a contest that Harry is entered into and has to win in order to
get into the center of a maze in order to be teleported
out of the school grounds to face Voldemort - when there were countless easier ways that he could have been whisked from the premises by Voldemort's right
hand man disguised as a trusted teacher!
When I heard that the very funny Dahl had a
book coming
out about an unlucky - in - love romance column editor, I couldn't wait to
get my
hands on it.
While crowdfunding / preorder site Pubslush has already made a name for itself in the backing community for being dedicated solely to
book projects, the company was
on hand exhibiting in the Startup Challenge alley to
get the word
out about the platform.
Self - publishing gives authors of these genres the opportunity to
get their
books out on actual — and virtual — bookshelves and into the
hands of their audience.

gets spilled
out of the fingers and mind of the author to the presentation from the local printing shop and sometimes looking like it was put together at the kitchen table with a glue - stick; to a vanity press like a LuLu, AuthorHouse / Solutions (known to many as publishing predators); or any of the pay to publish operations that claim to offer different types of packages / templates for the author to select from as well as claiming to do more personalization and
hand - holding than a vanity press operation; to Amazon's CreateSpace and the Ingram Spark (higher quality); to the author doing the publishing himself with his name or a «looks like a publishing company» name
on it (always recommended).
Authors have their first drafts in
hand and are so proud that they want to capitalise
on the momentum and accelerate the «publishing process» so their
book gets out there quickly.
The Asus Transformer
Book is slowly trickling
out into the wild and UltrabookReview.com have
got their
hands on one and have posted both a video and extensive written review of the elusive UltraBook which should help ease the wait till it hits retail in adequate quantities.
He and other industry professionals of the old publishing paradigm are still holding onto that gate with both
hands (and white knuckles)-- but readers like mine (who, granted, aren't into LIT - tra - chure, but just want to escape into a good read that
gets them to think and maybe even changes their outlook
on life) aren't particularly flooding to read the
books that were deemed acceptable reading material by the old - fashioned gatekeepers who tend to be looking for this year's bestseller to put
out in multiple re-iterations in 2 - 3 years.
