now owned by Amazon, it may only be a matter of time before my Amazon
reviews are accessible from Goodreads anyway).

book does not need to be on Amazon

review, we just have to wait until it is before we can post your
review publicly), we will post your
review on our site, Barnes & Noble, Google
Books, Facebook, Twitter, Google + and Pinterest.
Now I
get new Amazon
reviews for my
books every day.
For
now, it's a case of working tirelessly behind the scenes trying to
get reviews (you need a certain number of good
reviews to be allowed on some of the
book promos, for example, BuckBooks).
To
get honest peer

now include a reminder near the end of my
books: «P.S..

reviews are just a condition of
book sales (in my experience, you
get one
review every 50 to 100 sales or so).
Make it clear that you're asking for an honest

Now I know for sure my
book (only 26
reviews and in the ranking depths) would never stand a chance and that I would have lost my time trying to
get it there.
Now that we have hard evidence of what most of us know intuitively (
reviews affect sales), it becomes abundantly clear that you must do everything you can to
get reviews posted to your
books.
I
now have to
get back to a hopeful, hard - working novelist and tell her that, because she thought about garnering traditional
book reviews just about the time the
book was slated to be published, that plan just isn't going to work out for her.
I've
got someone on my team working with an author right
now to generate
reviews on a
book that came out two years ago — and they're coming in!
But if you dream of making something original and beautiful and true, if you imagine seeing your
book reviewed, or in the window of a
book store, you're in the same position as the ambitious swimmer — you've
got a lot of training to do, a lot of muscles to build, a lot of habits to start establishing right
now, today.
It has
gotten very difficult for small press titles to
get reviews; many
book bloggers
now ignore them and only accept
books from large and / or well - known publishers.
There are
now people
getting books into print for very little money, working online
book review and publicity sources,
getting attention in social media, and selling thousands of
books at profits that obliterate what authors used to
get as royalties from traditional publishers.
