flu, no such medication has been developed for
dogs.
We're still in
flu season in the U.S. and just because a
dog can't tell you their nose is stuffy, doesn't mean they can't
get sick.
In our previous discussion, we already said that not all
dogs that
get exposed to the
dog flu virus will eventually show symptoms.
You can not
get leptospirosis in the way humans or
dogs get the
flu, it is not contagious as respiratory illness is
If you think your
dog may have the
flu, it's important to check in with your vet to make sure he isn't
getting any worse.
The only way we can try to figure out the possible presence of
dog flu in our pets is for us to make a comprehensive review of where our pooch has been the past few days and if ever it
got in contact with other canines that are known to have
dog flu.
The best way to minimize your
dog's risk of
getting the
flu is to keep her away from other
dogs.
In other words, if the
flu occurs in a community, and a
dog owner only then rushes out to
get a
dog vaccinated — it still takes several weeks and a vaccine booster to be effective.
