This exhibition presents new black oil stick paintings, a colorful installation of
giant wall paintings, and painted furniture by Misaki Kawai.

The
giant abstract
painting, measuring some 25 by 15 metres and stretched on a museum
wall, is, suggests its creator, but a tiny part of the skin of a monster.

paint can installation by Aiko, while a
giant mural by Boxhead took over the
wall outside the lavish building.
On the opposite
wall is a large - scale
painting by Sterling Ruby — another artist with an almost mythological persona — incorporating scraps of found fabric, and perched on a plinth, under a museum - style vitrine is a work by Cyprien Gaillard called Untitled (Tooth), 2013: literally one tooth from the
giant maw of a mechanical digger, transformed by this transposition into a somehow hieratic little figure.
As visitors find their way to the spherical shapes at its center, a
giant screen of fluctuating colors, titled Shapeshifting, plays off of the digitally planned landscape
paintings executed in oil vertically and horizontally lining the
walls.
For me, the «super salon» — there are forty - two
paintings hung literally floor to ceiling on two
walls in the show — is a
giant comic composition that's merely posing as a salon - style installation.
We're promised more of the same in her next exhibition, where
giant paintings will spill off the
