the one is the old theocratic messianic title,
given to anointed kings in ancient times; the other is the new apocalyptic title of the heavenly Man, the celestial Anthropos, Urmensch, the Primal Man, who is to appear at the end of days, raise the dead,
and judge the whole world —
angels,
demons,
and men.
That's an extreme example, but I could
give you examples of Christians who teach that you
and I are gods, that Satan was Christ's brother, that Satan
and demons are behind every sickness
and everything that goes wrong in your life, that seeing a feather in church is proof that an
angel is there, that God wants to change your fillings to gold,
and that if you are not healthy
and wealthy you are out of God's will.
; nor (ii) why Christians believe they are monotheistic,
given that they believe in god, the devil, guardian
angels, the holy spirit, Jesus, many
demons in hell, the Virgin Mary, the
angel Gabriel, thousands of saints, all of whom apparently make Earthly appearances periodically,
and all of whom inhabit their various life - after - death lands (limbo, purgatory, heaven, hell) with magic - sacred powers of some kind.
More like the devil...
and in the same book the evils has been hidden for centuries... there are
angels and demons that walk among us...
and in disbelief we
give up or faith because the action of others..
While I very much enjoyed both «The DaVinci Code» (I
gave it 3 1/2 stars out of 4 on a website I wrote for long ago)
and «
Angels and Demons» (3 out of 4 — same site), those films had a lot more action in them.
The subject matter —
demons, vampires,
angels or whatnot of each individual book will then become the focal point instead
and hopefully this will
give each book a better shot at its own life.
