Governments generally get a much
bigger stimulus
bang for their
buck when they spend directly on projects, such
as roads and bridges, rather than
giving cheques or tax breaks to individuals, who may choose to bank the money instead of spending it.
In terms of the wider issues, you could argue that the level of concern about energy bills is an argument
for prioritising investment in the cheapest renewables,
as they
give the
biggest bang for their
buck.
