given an

season release date of Nov. 27 for «I Saw the Light,» starring Tom Hiddleston in the story of iconic country - Western singer Hank Williams.
Scorsese's longest film ever, clocking in at two hours and 59 minutes with credits, will have its wide
release on December 25th, just in time to
give it a chance to be an
awards season contender.

awards season conversation — not always a
given when a movie is
released in July.
In my original Oscar Profile of the film, I didn't
give it much of an
awards chance due to its
release date and because Focus Features has two
awards -
season releases in the fall and winter to put their energy into.
