Ironically, one of I the things I quickly learned when I started
giving ranger talks is that people expect park rangers to know everything, don't you?

Once there,
Ranger George
gave several interpretive
talks (affectionately known as «Storytellin» Time with Uncle George») sharing the fateful story of how Spanish explorer Gaspar de Portola failed to find Monterey but instead «discovered» San Francisco Bay.
It also makes it plausible for us to interact with the fishermen and park
rangers while out there,
giving you the possibility to witness first - hand how an internationally - certified sustainable fishery works,
talk with the park
rangers and researchers and even participate in a concrete project with them.
As much as I have loved working as a park
ranger, especially with the freedom I had to
give nearly weekly
ranger talks on climate change, I had the dream for years to be a full time, year round climate change organizer, writer, and lobbyist.
Since 2007, fellow Crater Lake
ranger Amelia Bruno suggested I get trained by Al Gore, since he led trainings on
giving climate change
talks.
For the past seven years, I have
given over 150 climate change
talks as a National Park Service
ranger, Toastmaster, Climate Reality Leader, teaching Climate Change 101 continuing education classes for St. Louis Community College, and a volunteer for Citizens» Climate Lobby.
Brian Ettling, a long - time seasonal
ranger with the National Park Service,
gave many examples of how climate change is harming national parks during his Wednesday
talk at Runge Nature Center in Jefferson City.
