Arts and Design and currently at the Boca Raton Museum.
A highly respected artist in the Bay Area, where she taught alongside Clyfford Still and Richard Diebenkorn at the California School of Fine
Arts (later the San Francisco
Art Institute), Falkenstein moved to Paris in 1950 where she
exhibited with Hans (Jean) Arp, Lucio Fontana and Alberto Giacometti; rubbed shoulders with Constantin Brancusi and Henry Moore; and received prestigious architectural commissions, including a stunning set of garden gates, made of welded metal and Murano
glass, for Peggy Guggenheim's palazzo on the Grand Canal in Venice.
Glass artist Robert Wiener is

exhibiting at beinArt Gallery in Australia (through April 26th) and painter Brian Petro has recently installed 11 works at MINT located at Florida Avenue and California Street, NW (

The result (which cost Saatchi # 50,000) was The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living, a tiger shark (which cost # 6,000) pickled in formaldehyde in a
glass case, which was
exhibited in 1992 as part of the first Young British
Arts (YBA) Exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery of contemporary
art in London.
Borrowing a «display - case
exhibit form» from traditional
art institutions, Le Houezec and Villemont invited 13 artists and artist duos working on the «post-internet» realm — including Cory Arcangel, Renaud Jerez, Rachel de Joode, Marlie Mul, and Tilman Hornig — for an encased exhibition that is nonetheless «completely of the physical world» — or, as they call it: «a view of
art in 2015 through a
glass screen».
Her work has been
exhibited in the UK and internationally, in Spain, Portugal, Germany, Holland, Finland and Brazil, with work recently shown at the Harris Museum &
Art Gallery, Preston (2015 — 16) and the 2015 British
Glass Biennale in Stourbridge.
Beverly Fishman is continuing her artistic study of the human body and the pharmaceutical industry through a new medium with her
exhibit «Pill Spill» at the Toledo Museum of
Art Glass Pavilion.
