If you can ignore the stinging lack of «new phone» status, this rehashed
glass slab design has already proven both beautiful and reasonably practical on the iPhone 4, broken backs aside.

The rest of the
design is not dissimilar to what we've seen in the past: There's a sheet of
glass on the front, a
slab of aluminium in the middle and a sheet of
glass on the black, which, when combined with the omission of Samsung's branding beneath the speaker grill, makes for one of the best - looking smartphones to hit the shelves in 2017.
Sony's industrial
design language is unmistakable in this angular black
slab, combining a
glass front and back with shiny metallic buttons, and a brushed aluminum frame.

The Sony Xperia Z2 doesn't do anything outlandish in terms of style, and it's yet another black

glass - but it is a well built, premium, functional and waterproof device which certainly trumps the
design of the Galaxy S5.
