We're a bit puzzled why Kobo didn't price
the Glo more aggressively in the U.S. market, given its competition, but $ 129 is in the ballpark for consumers who «think different» and are willing to pay more for the privilege, in the Apple mode.
I love
my glo more than any other make.

more.
The frontlight on the Kindle Paperwhite 3 seems
more neutral in tone by itself, but when you have it right next to the
Glo HD it looks kind of darker and yellower by comparison.

The recent release of the Kobo
Glo, Mini and the upcoming Arc Tablet is the first time the company has ever released
more than one product at a time.
Likely the best deal of the bunch is the Kobo Aura at $ 109, which is actually
more affordable then the previous generation Kobo
Glo which is $ 123.
Surely, it would be
more appropriate to compare the Kindle Paperwhite to the Kobo
Glo.
So actually the
Glo would seem to have considerably
more battery life.I will say this though, for the most part the Kobo seems to be handling my de-drm and converted kindle store books very well.

At least on the YouTube video it's blatantly obvious that there's a difference in how the two rendered the images in the PDF file, the greyscale gradients were very different (even the shapes were different at points), and particularly on the hammer the
Glo HD's reproduction looked a lot
more grainy than what the Aura H2O put out.

Memory Card Slot — The Aura H2O has a memory card slot for cards up to 32 GB; the
Glo HD does not have a memory card slot (however, the internal card can be cloned and written to a larger capacity card if you really want
more space).
The H2O's frontlight is yellow in tone, and the
Glo HD's is
more of a whitish color, with a hint of blue.
The
Glo HD has a
more budget design compared to the Nook but the software is a lot
more advanced, so unless the waterproofing and hackable Android OS mean a lot to potential customers it's hard to see many people choosing the Nook over the
Glo HD, especially when B&N makes it so people can't download their purchased ebooks for backup and neglects to add Adobe DRM support for library ebooks and books purchased from other sources.
Perhaps, the main worry being that the basic Kindle Paperwhite is a mere # 10
more expensive than the Kobo
Glo.
It appears that Lizzy's bakery colleagues are

Glo is an enthusiastic if incompetent spell - caster; Clara was an Unmentionable in years previous.
This is useful if you have the
Glo function constantly enabled, since really dark text tends to stand out
more than lighter text.
My understanding is that the
Glo has a backlit screen — I assume the Arc is

The
Glo has a couple of ports: a Micro-USB connection at the bottom of the device for charging (you get a cable in the box but no AC adapter) and transferring files, and a microSD expansion slot on the left side of the device for adding
more memory beyond the 2 GB of internal memory (1 GB usable for storage).
Reading PDF files is solid too, pinching a zooming is actually
more fluid than the Kindle Voyage and Kobo
Glo HD when you are just looking at pure text documents.
Unfortunately, it's no longer the «cheaper» e-reader: The Kobo
Glo costs about $ 10
more than both the Nook Simple Touch with GlowLight and the Kindle Paperwhite.
The Kobo
Glo costs $ 129, which is $ 10
more expensive than its competitors — the Nook Simple Touch with GlowLight and the Kindle Paperwhite, each priced at $ 119.
Compared with the Kindle Paperwhite, the
Glo has a slightly yellowish tint that is
more noticeable when the ComfortLight is at a dimmer setting.
This is 2 GB
more than what the
Glo offers, and you can expand the memory up to 32 GB via the Micro SD card.
This is
more or less why Amazon currently leads the pack because most of the industry still uses infrared lighting (Kobo
Glo HD, Nook Glowlight etc).
When my Kobo
glo died (after 486 hours of working well, the battery decided not to recharge any
more), I was quite concerned because of all the complaints on the Web.
If you really need
more storage at all times on your ereader, as somebody else pointed out, you can replace the SD card inside your Kobo
Glo, which is admittedly not everyone's cup of tea (especially since it'll likely void the warranty, and require some fiddling with software to prepare the new card properly with the OS for the Kobo).
The
Glo always suffered from a screen that ended up looking
more blue than white, but the Aura is on par with the Kindle Paperwhite, in terms of the screen.
My Kobo
Glo HD just died (no
more charging).
The rise of e-readers with front - lit displays, such as the Kobo
Glo and Kindle Paperwhite, are also becoming
more popular.
The only major advantage i see (on this review) on paperwhite is the less blurish and blueish screen while the
glo tops on both memory (having the option to increase memory) and versatility in formats being able to read a lot
more of them.
Having used a Kobo Aura for a couple of weeks (similar size and form factor as the new
Glo HD)-- I did have a 32 GB microSD card intalled and didn't even fill
more than 200 MB with a couple of graphic novels, PDFs and 50 books.
The Kobo Aura is a new addition to Kobo's line of ebook readers and is being marketed as
more of a premium ebook reader along with the HD; it does not replace the Kobo
Glo, which still remains available for $ 20 less.
The Kobo Aura is slightly little thinner and lighter than the
Glo (0.07 inches thinner and 0.4 ounces lighter), and the design is modeled
more after the Aura HD with the angled back rather than the textured quilted pattern of previous Kobo ereaders.
