Once
again, Anderson populates his
film with characters who remake the world around them, but we
see how little pleasure it actually brings them, and how far they are willing to
go to force others to conform to those expectations.
I
went to
see the
film again, and had the same reaction.
It took me 8 years to
go back and watch Dead Ringers
again to
see what a great, perfectly detailed, wonderfully executed
film it is.
And there was so much other hilarity to this
film I really do have to
go see it

going around about Evan Rachel Wood's appearance in the

The exposition dumps come back in full force, including one of the most unbearable offered up in the
film that wastes one of my favorite actors whose role I won't mention here as not to spoil it for anyone unfortunate enough to
see this
film, as they explain the position these boys are in, the «truth» of their predicament and where things are
going to
go in that inevitable sequel that will soon be threatening our cinemas once
again.
I decided to
go with it partly because the original DVD release was terribly presented (
see the bottom of the page), but also because I really enjoyed the
film and couldn't resist an excuse to watch it
again.
The
film takes its time letting us know exactly why she is a threat, at first unfolding an intriguing scenario, akin to the one in Mark Romanek's Never Let Me
Go, in which children are shown receiving a strange schooling, and mysteriously disappearing never to be
seen again.
Ryan Gosling will be a strong presence in the Best Actor category between this and the upcoming «The Place Beyond the Pines» (we'll be covering that
film in a later Profile, so stay tuned there), but he could

see more votes

It's that time of year
again, when we review the
films of the summer blockbuster season — those in theaters, those that have come and maybe
gone, and those soon to be released — and make our recommendations of what to
see and what to avoid.

film got as far as casting, under «Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist» director Peter Sollett, but the «Avengers» juggernaut
saw it put on hold, and it's yet to get
going again.

As I didn't manage to
see many great quality
films this year, I thought about sending my friends last year's selection for the World Poll
again, in order to overcome, in certain way, our compulsion to simply parade and forget
films gone by.
Though I've enjoyed — or admired — many other Leigh
films, Happy -
Go - Lucky is the first one that made me want to turn around and
see it
again, right away.
