speaks clearly
in these times because of his silence it means he has had enough of our ways we havent listened we have gone our own way we havent acted on what his prophets have spoken so he distances himself until such time that we will take him seriously.Thats how it was in the old testament he allowed his people to go into captivity or bondage when they refused to obey his word.We see this pattern repeated over and over for example In Egypt when they were in slavery it wasnt until the people acknowledged there sin and cried out to God to save them and he did by sending a savior moses.Because we have Christ we have grace he wont spurn us like he used to because Christ took away our reproach and he is free to love us despite our sinfulness.brent

Clive, you point out how others often don't understand what Jesus was saying; but while Jesus often labors to try and make things clear to the unbeliever («Oh, you of little faith) or at the very least the author tries to make it clear for us
in retrospect (At the time they didn't understand that he
spoke of this...),
in this case Jesus switches from something that might be figurative to essentially say «no, I seriously mean this» and it concludes not with Jesus saying «don't
go away, this is what I actually mean» but confirming that
people would refuse to accept that God intended for them to actually fill themselves with the life that He offered so they stopped following him.

speak louder then words.

Occasionally, Hartshorne even
speaks of a «besouled body,» but by such language he means only the probability of certain modes of action and experience that embody a given personality's characteristic traits.11 Consequently, he suggests that, when a
person's body
goes into a deep, dreamless sleep, the soul loses its actuality, only to regain it when the
person awakens.12 Understandably, therefore, he disregards as inapplicable to his own view Gilbert Ryle's well - known caricature of Cartesian anthropological dualism as «the dogma of the Ghost
in the Machine» — especially since Hartshorne denies that the human body is a «machine»
in any materialistic, mechanical sense.13

people] and separates them... number us, we beseech Thee,
in the ranks of those who
went forth from this place longing only for those things for which Thou dost make us long, [those] for whom the complexity of the issues only served to renew their zeal to deal with them, [those] who alleviated pain by sharing it; and [those] who were always willing to risk something big for something good... O God, take our minds and think through them, take our lips and
speak through them.
Janet i think what you have said is quite insightful and you are right and there is another meaning to
Go and sin no more and that
speaks to me of repentence making a decision to Follow Christ the one who saves. The words
Go and sin no more is referring to a continual ongoinging process of living for Christ rather than dying
in our sins daily there is no comparison.I thought that was awesome pointing the law back to all of us for we all have sinned and the judgement is death but Jesus came that we might have life
in its fullness.Many
people only see the adulterer when she portrays who we are as sinners that he came to save all of us sin is sin and the punishment is death so again you are quite right
