Since I think all
meat needs a
sauce to
go with it, I made a simple red wine
sauce which was a nice compliment.
When I spent a semester in Buenos Aires during college, I loved to
go out
with friends and order a parrilla mixta, which usually consisted of grilled steak, chicken, chorizo, and often organ
meats as well,
with a big bowl of herby chimichurri
sauce and an even bigger bowl of french fries on the side.
You can't
go wrong
with anything on the menu, but the fried zucchini, shrimp angel hair, and delicious
meat sauce provide the best introduction to Palumbo's amazing menu.
We don't eat a lot of
meat and also keep a kosher kitchen, so here are my
go to's these days: three bean veggie chili (inspired by whole foods — GREAT leftover food); roast chicken (Ina's); stir fries
with tofu or chicken (super into cabbage and you can get it to taste like moo shoo
with the proper
sauces); roasted brussel sprouts
with barley, cranberries, walnuts, and some goat cheese depending on who you are; grilled chicken (breasts... I know they're not your thing).
Spaghetti
with meat sauce, big tossed salads, and one - pot dishes are our main
go - tos.
Something happens when you mix otherwise one - dimensional ground
meats up
with fresh breadcrumbs, herbs, seasonings and make a great
sauce to
go with it and that is that I will swat your

with chicken, too and you can use it as a baste indoors, under the broiler, or while grilling the
meat.
How can you
go wrong
with carbs covered in
meat and fat
sauce?
On the mild side of hot (especially after cooking
with food) but big on personality, Dog -

Sauce will win you over
with one bite, whether you use it on ribs or other red
meat, chicken, turkey legs, shrimp or veggies on the grill, in the oven, or on the stove top.
What I've done is create barbeque flavors that
go well
with specific grilling
meats, whether it's my Honey Apple / Honey Apple Hot grilling
sauce on a slab of baby back ribs or my Chipotle grilling
sauce on a crispy smoked brisket.
In Thailand, as in many other countries, a little
meat goes a long way when it is combined
with vegetables and
sauces and served
with vast quantities of rice.
You can never
go wrong
with grilled
meat or fish
with steamed or roasted veggies (sans any sugary
sauces or dressings) and this way, you know exactly what is in the food you're eating.

meats; pork ribs marinated in plums and hoisin
sauce; stir - fried vegetables

with black pepper, an intensely flavored dish that was fiery hot yet without chillies; and beef penang, a curry like dish that was hot
with chillies.
If pasta
with meat sauce is your
go - to comfort meal, you'll find a lot to love in these familiar flavors.
I wouldn't advise this every day but on occasion it's ok to serve
meat alternatives that are premade while you make the sides,
sauces and extras to
go with it such as: veggie burgers
with homemade thick cut baked sweet potato wedges, vegan piccata (I use Gardein and make a great homemade lemon & thyme
sauce), vegan beef tips (I use Gardein)
with sautéed caramelized onions and garlicky sautéed kale.
Eating a really warm, big bowl of zucchini noodles and
meat sauce with Parmesan cheese on top, having a glass of red wine, and then eating a piece of chocolate afterwards — I'm like good to
go.
Fix the pasta for your kids, but make you and your husband some zoodles (zucchini noodles) to
go with your
meat and
sauce.
