at the back, that is where we need 2 quick central defenders, Kossy and Gabriel can look after themselves on the counter, but Mertesacker has no chance, so I think if we play Merte then we ain't got a chance

pace... stops him
going forward when he does we create problems
for them as with second goal... ozil i am sorry to say is clueless
at the moment... monreal and kos doing ok....

This is an incredibly difficult question to answer
for a variety of reasons, most importantly because over the years our once vaunted «beautiful» style of play has become a shadow of it's former self, only to be replaced by a less than stellar «plug and play» mentality where players play out of position and adjustments / substitutions are rarely forthcoming before the 75th minute... if you look
at our current players, very few would make sense in the traditional Wengerian system...
at present, we don't have the personnel to move the ball quickly from deep - lying position, efficient one touch midfielders that can make the necessary through balls or the disciplined and pacey forwards to stretch defences into wide positions, without the aid of the backs coming up into the final 3rd, so that we can attack the defensive lanes in the same clinical fashion we did years ago... on this current squad, we have only 1 central defender on staf, Mustafi, who seems to have any prowess in the offensive zone or who can even pass two zones through so that we can advance play quickly out of our own end (I have seen some inklings that suggest Holding might have some offensive qualities but too early to tell)... unfortunately Mustafi has a tendency to get himself in trouble when he gets overly aggressive on the ball... from our backs out wide, we've seen
pace from the likes of Bellerin and Gibbs and the spirited albeit offensively stunted play of Monreal, but none of these players possess the skill - set required in the offensive zone
for the new Wenger scheme which requires deft touches, timely runs to the baseline and consistent crossing, especially when Giroud was playing and his ratio of scored goals per clear chances was relatively low (better last year though)... obviously I like Bellerin's future prospects, as you can't teach
pace, but I do worry that he regressed last season, which was obvious to Wenger because there was no way he would have used Ox as the right side wing - back so often knowing that Barcelona could come calling in the off - season, if he thought otherwise... as
for our midfielders, not a single one, minus the more confident Xhaka I watched played
for the Swiss national team a couple years ago, who truly makes sense under the traditional Wenger model... Ramsey holds onto the ball too long, gives the ball away cheaply far too often and abandons his defensive responsibilities on a regular basis (doesn't score enough recently to justify): that being said, I've always thought he does possess a little something special, unfortunately he thinks so too... Xhaka is a little too slow to ever boss the midfield and he tends to telegraph his one true strength, his long ball play: although I must admit he did get a bit better during some points in the latter part of last season... it always made me wonder why whenever he played with Coq Wenger always seemed to play Francis in a more advanced role on the pitch... as
for Coq, he is way too reckless
at the wrong times and has exhibited little offensive prowess yet finds himself in and around the box far too often... let's face it Wenger was ready to throw him in the trash heap when injuries forced him to use Francis and then he had the nerve to act like this was all part of a bigger Wenger constructed plan... he like Ramsey, Xhaka and Elneny don't offer the skills necessary to satisfy the quick transitory nature of our old offensive scheme or the stout defensive mindset needed to protect the defensive zone so that our offensive players can remain aggressive in the final third... on the front end, we have Ozil, a player of immense skill but stunted by his physical demeanor that tends to offend, the fact that he's been played out of position far too many times since arriving and that the players in front of him, minus Sanchez, make little to no sense considering what he has to offer (especially Giroud); just think about the quick counter-attack offence in Real or the space and protection he receives in the German National team's midfield, where teams couldn't afford to focus too heavily on one individual... this player was a passing «specialist» long before he arrived in North London, so only an arrogant or ignorant individual would try to reinvent the wheel and / or not surround such a talent with the necessary components... in regards to Ox, Walcott and Welbeck, although they all possess serious talents I see them in large part as headless chickens who are on the injury table too much, lack the necessary first - touch and / or lack the finishing flair to warrant their inclusion in a regular starting eleven; I would say that, of the 3, Ox showed the most upside once we
went to a back 3, but even he became a bit too consumed by his pending contract talks before the season ended and that concerned me a bit... if I had to choose one of those 3 players to stay on it would be Ox due to his potential as a plausible alternative to Bellerin in that wing - back position should we continue to use that formation... in Sanchez, we get one of the most committed skill players we've seen on this squad
for some years but that could all change soon, if it hasn't already of course... strangely enough, even he doesn't make sense given the constructs of the original Wenger offensive model because he holds onto the ball too long and he will give the ball up a little too often in the offensive zone... a fact that is largely forgotten due to his infectious energy and the fact that the numbers he has achieved seem to justify the means... finally, and in many ways most crucially, Giroud, there is nothing about this team or the offensive system that Wenger has traditionally employed that would even suggest such a player would make sense as a starter... too slow, too inefficient and way too easily dispossessed... once again, I think he has some special skills and,
at times, has showed some world - class qualities but he's lack of mobility is an albatross around the necks of our offence... so when you ask who would be our best starting 11, I don't have a clue because of the 5 or 6 players that truly deserve a place in this side, 1 just arrived, 3 aren't under contract beyond 2018 and the other was just sold to Juve... man, this is theraputic because following this team is like an addiction to heroin without the benefits
Lack of real
pace upfront also gave courage to the Spuds to
go at us even more but if say Walcott and Sanchez had started, they would have plenty to worry about
at their back but atleast in the absence of Sanchez, we needded Walcott up there
for every reason besides, he is one of our best finishers (if not the best).
When Bellerin first came into the side he not only defended well but was always so dangerous
going forward.His
pace and ability to
go outside his marker gave us an attacking outlet that allowed us to play without a recognised right sided attacker which coincided with Walcott getting less and less game time.We all thought this boy was
going to turn into someone very special and so obviously did the management who apparently renewed his contract on a reputed # 100k per week. What have we seen since then?A player that seems as indecisive and under coached as the rest of the defenders
at the club.A player that has rarely delivered a performance that reflected his initial early form.A player whose body language seems to display his displeasure
at being
at our club when Barcelona reputedly offered # 40m
for him in the close season.
i think this could officially be the start of the end
for wenger his blind arrogance has cause him to buy welbeck in the sheer belief that AGAINST THE ODDS HE CAN BEAT THE REST OF THE BIG 4 WITH ONE ARM BEHIND HIS BACK we should be buying top top top european c / l standard players not sunderland spuds everton standard players thats about welbecks standard of club in all truthful reality he is an honest hard working player but wenger thinks he can coach the mediocrity out of him he is truely insane its a guaranteed source of goals we need not more fancy hold up play and «
pace» and missing chance after chance so the postman is to be joined by the manchester metro tram absolute disgrace he has kidded on ozil and sanchez they must be wondering what is
going on atm they are seeing the true wenger now just panicking and not panicking very well to that effect and
for some reason wenger has
gone all kinky
for english players
for some strange reason
at least chambers has great potential welbeck has past that stage and is a seasoned pro now and he is no where near what we need wenger is trying to show how great he is by whiping the back out of the same players week after week in the vain hope that he can win the league without rotating ever and they will get injured and he wont have learned his lesson and we will pay
for it in the end best last day transfer would have been a 4 year contract

Everyone is asking
for certain players which I understand but Carvalho is very one
paced the same as Xhaka We need a mobile CM Lemar won't be coming but his stats are better than Mane's so we should have paid what ever they wanted We need two CMs as in my opinion Xhaka isn't good enough Seri could be one as long as the other is a mobile destroyer But let's face it
at the moment we are in a real bad state Wenger has lost the plot Players want to leave and I don't blame them, so it's either sell now or lose them

Monreal (who should be asked to be cautious as he ventures forward) and hopefully with his defensive bias, should be able to track back and help out in the defense when we are short
at the back, and OX on the right side who, from evidence of his having played there and performed in the shortness of this season games, and with enough
pace to track back when necessary — but with a bias
for going forward — would be a good mix to start with.
A pure defensive player will never work
at arsenal under the current regime e.g look
at coquelin he had
pace, tackling, aggression and we all loved him but wenger tried to make him a box to box player again (he was originally a b2b player then a dm then b2b again) because he is too stupid to either realise our need
for protection or that coquelin was average
going forward.

He has everything thats good about Theo, plus he can dribble,
go past a defender

at arsenal he is a world class finisher something we do nt hav
at the moment as much as henry is a god
at the emirates lets face it last yr he cudnt give us no more than 15 mins a game the
pace had left him plus he iz now 35 david villa to me regardless his age is one of the most prolific strikers out there like tola said look
at raul villa is that type of player theu might lose
pace but neva lose the knack of scoring goals wenger bring him in and another thing barca as a big club shud be ashame of themselves still owing arsenal money of those transfers
for such a big club arsenal shud be
going in
for more players than jus david villa

, If you look
at AW's strikers choice, he always
goes for tall strikers: Anelka, TH14, Kanu, RVP, Ade, Bendy. There must be a good reason
for this, we cant judge Le Boss on his choice.Me who used to hate The Dane have become now to start seeing some nice
pace on him, I just do nt know but his
pace just starts to look better and better week after week to me.So,
for now, lets just see what Bendy, Edu and RVP can do
for us.BTW, I also like tall strikers, Big Fan of Peter Crouch and RVNistlroy.Kanu used to be my best, along with Kluivert.Ive just watched Arsenal agst Mdllbrg (98 - 99) Anelka with Kanu as strikers, 6 - 1 both strikers 2 goals each.
