I had been leaning towards a black or charcoal laminate countertop to
go with my white cabinets, open top cabinets (I took the doors off and painted the back to match the walls), and chalkboard wall.
You could
go with white cabinets (very popular right now) and white appliances.
To enhance the feel of a larger space
I went with white cabinets.
Oh and as spunky and colorful as I like things I also chose a white kitchen and when my designer friend tried to talk me out of a white backsplash to
go with my white cabinets I told her that there's enough craziness in my life and since I spend so much time in the kitchen (since it is the heart of our home) I need it to be a no fuss, clean slate!

I recently did a little work in my kitchen (not a total overhaul, just paint and new countertops) and I
went with the oiled soapstone laminate
with my
white cabinets and I love it!
I remodeled 7 years ago, my place had new light brown
cabinets so I
went with warm earth tones throughout... I love the freshness of the
white and gray
cabinets... but I am
going to «love the home I'm in» and not remodeling the kitchen again.
I am trying to find a scheme for the bathroom that will somehow
go with a very yellow marble-esque double sink countertop and

I've been painting the
cabinets of our house on the shore

go with grey for the island.
Eventually I had to get over the fact that they are here to stay and that I need to learn to love them, so I decided to

white and gray color palette which will help to make the space look more updated, as well as cool down the rather warm toned

go for it and paint our kitchen
cabinets grey, YUP grey, not
white... I remember my father - in - law saying «grey?

gone with a very dark chocolate to make your beautiful
white ceiling and
cabinets (I'm assuming you will paint them or distress them
white) stand out... the anticipation is killing me now!!

Cabinet philosophy As much as I do like the look of black and
white cabinets, I decided to not
go with the trend, but to stay
with a classic wood.
I need mind to look exactly like yours b / c our
cabinets are an antique
white and it wouldn't look right if I
went with a grayish tile.
