Golden syrup is a thick, sweet, and amber-colored liquid made from sugar. It is commonly used in baking and cooking as a substitute for honey or corn syrup.

I did use a combination of black treacle and
golden syrup because i have no idea what light molasses is so maybe there's more sugar in my mix from that.
is gooey too but sweeter than this recipe — soft light brown sugar and
golden syrup rather than the deep dark molasses.
To cut through some of the sweetness I drizzled this cake with a simple lemon icing and it compliments the flavouring so well the tart lemon, the
