I know its not
GF, but I love subbing out about 1/2 of the
flour for rye
flour when I want the cake to be extra sticky and gooey:) In addition to being
better for you, rye
flour has less elastic glutens in it and as a result its awesome for gooey textured desserts!!
I'm nearly out of
Better Batter, and I had a photo shoot today and had to make multiple loaves of
GF beer bread in the last few days to perfect the recipe, and I was in serious danger of getting stuck without enough
flour.
The texture is just miles
better than anything else out there in my opinion, and with the obstacle of cost removed (or at least reduced to the equivalent of every other
GF flour out there,) there's no reason not to use it in practically everything.
They were moist, fudgy — very fudgy, actually — and tender, and though they don't have quite the same texture as «real» brownies (if you've ever used brown rice
flour, you might have noticed that it can give a very slightly grainy feel to some baked goods), they're very
good for a quick and
gf fix.
I just started baking with
GF flour and I'm not entirely used the texture of
GF baked stuff so I did feel there was a little more substitute - y feeling but it was still really really
good, I am definitely making this again.

But I can definitely see the value in a detailed and
well thought - out
GF baking book that focuses on the right
flour blends to bring about certain textures in baked goods.
It meant I could look up recipes and create my own version like I usually did with everything I cooked, rather than having to say a prayer to the gluten free gods that my baked
good would work out, let alone trying to figure out the cost of all the
GF flours on our then grad student budgets.
1 tsp xanthan gum if using my
flour mix OR 2 tsp if using a
flour mix which doesn't have xanthan gum added OR no xanthan if using
GF Jules or
Better Batter
And that they turned out so
well with
gf flour.
I feel like folks should pay very close attention to where their
flour is sourced in order to make extra sure it is certified
GF for their own safety and
well being.

gf sausage balls before and did not add as much
gf flour and they were pretty
good.
I just took a gluten free yeast bread class at King Arthur
Flour in Norwich, VT and was so hopeful that the bread we would make in the class would be
better than the usual
gf white bread.

good flavour to it, compared to a lot of other

Iade a scratch loaf in a Dutch oven using a gluten based recipe and substituting a blended
GF flour that we have been also using for baking cookies with
good success.
I ordered real bun baking pans from King Arthur
Flour and use this mix and HONESTLY... it's the
best GF buns out there.
I used
GF flour since she has celiac and I found that my cake was «quite jiggly» even after a
good 35 minutes — it's possible my oven wasn't hot enough but I was surprised at how long it took to set.
I've had the
best luck with Tom Sawyer brand of
GF flour substitute.

GF for chiffon cakes, actually i'm not too sure myself but i just checked and found this link that uses all rice
flour to make chiffon cake and looks
good, guess it's workable

I've tried 2
flour bread recipes before and they weren't very
good; but I was curious to see if I could adjust one of my successful bread recipes down to two
GF flours and still have it work.
Of course sub a
good GF bread
flour blend.
from Bob's Red Mill as
well as some of their
GF oat
flour.
I've also used spelt
flour here but I would imagine that my typical 30/30/30 combo of ground almonds, buckwheat
flour and tapioca starch would work
well as a
GF sub (note - this hasn't ben tested in this recipe)
I've been looking for a really
good GF brownie recipe as they are my dad's favorite dessert and I owe him a thank you, but I can't use rice
flour either, so knowing quinoa
flour works is awesome:)
I've also made it using regular white
flour, fine whole wheat
flour (my usual choice) and Bob's Red Mill
GF flour (which doesn't give you a tasty batter, but it ends up with a
good cake).
the ones i've had the most luck with are bob's red mill «1 - to1» gluten free (with the blue label, as ipposed to the red label which is all purpose
gf flour and is not great at all), and «cup - for - cup», which costs more but is hands down the
best on the market.

GF flour until the batter was thicker, and added 1/2 tsp of Xanthan gum as
well at the suggestion of another cooking blog.
i might try this recipie like i made it (with «too much»
flour) as a base for a fruit jelly cake or something, since it is SO easy and so tasty and it holds shape with
gf flour quite
well without complicated
flour mixtures, gums etc. anyway, that was quite a novel i've written there... thank you, natasha, for posting.

GF Flour and they were pretty
good, a little more on the spongy side.
I'm not sure because I haven't tried it, but I'd venture to guess a whole wheat
flour or (non
GF) all - purpose
flour would work just as
well.
I'm not too familiar with gluten - free
flours, but an all purpose
GF flour mix should work
well for this recipe
