Tasked with updating and improving the design, was Di Tao,
BlackBerry's Senior Industrial Designer, who spoke with the Inside
BlackBerry blog
about the motivation to evolve the existing design of the
BlackBerry Passport, what exactly has changed in the design as
well as what inspirations were used in the design process.
One of the first things you notice after spending some time with the
BlackBerry Torch 9800 is that the hardware feels quite solid; it's durable, yet not too heavy at 5.68 ounces —
about an ounce more than both RIM's
BlackBerry Bolds 9000 and 9650; the slider mechanism is smooth and there's very little horizontal - «give» while open vertically, which typically bodes
well for its durability over time; the battery cover sits snuggly in place, even if you attempt to wiggle it around; and there's little - or - no squeaking or «creaking» if you squeeze and / or press various sections of the device, which hasn't necessarily been the case with other recent

better than anyone else — I'm not sure how OS v7 is considered «stale», since it is a brand - new iteration — Not everyone who shops for a new device is 17 years old and worried
about looking uncool.

We have a company that started making phone
about 5 years ago and it the
best phone in the world... missing all kinds of features... simple cut and paste for years, multitasking, and the same icons for the past 5 years and they say the
blackberry icons look old.
RIM has shared details
about the PlayBook on its Website, as
well as its newly launched Inside
BlackBerry for Business blog, but pricing and release - date information are still to come.
In my
BlackBerry Passport review, I noted that a common feeling
about BlackBerry is that they always seem to settle for
