And I liked Membership Rewards because it has a lot of
good airline transfer partners.
To complicate things more, Membership Rewards has more and
better airline transfer partners than ThankYou, but the Prestige card has better earning potential, offering bonus miles for purchases in several different categories.
It's probably safe to say that the Platinum card just edges out the Prestige, though, thanks to its big sign - up bonus (the Prestige has none),
better airline transfer partners and $ 400 in credits (even if they are a bit more limited).
Still, although I'd give more consideration to the benefits, I would have to say that Membership Rewards edges out Thankyou Points here since at the very least they boast the better hotel selection and offer
better airline transfer options.
Before you attempt to book an award ticket with credit card points, do your homework to determine
the best airline transfer partners and their associated rules.

Citi Prestige has only one domestic
airline partner, JetBlue, and the
transfer ratio isn't the
best — 1,000 ThankYou points to 500 TrueBlue points.
For members of
airline loyalty programs, the Starpoints
transfer program is a
good way to get additional juice out of your spending.
The
best part of their
airline transfer program is that it automatically adds a 5,000 - mile bonus to your select participating frequent flyer program for every 20,000 points
transferred.
While the IHG ® Rewards Club Traveler Credit Card's points are really only
good when used for hotel nights, the Starpoints that the Starwood Preferred Guest ® Credit Card from American Express earns can be
transferred 1:1 with a number of leading
airline loyalty programs including British Airways, Alaska
Airlines and Delta Air Lines.
Given that Starpoints are worth on average 2.4 cents per point, you should
transfer points to an
airline loyalty program only if you're able to use the resulting rewards for

There's no need to
transfer points to an
airline partner in order to get the
best value.
The choice of
airline and hotel partners is also much
better than the
transfer options of American Express» Membership Reward Points.
The points you earn with the SPG card can be
transferred directly to a huge number of
airline and hotel partners, as
well as being redeemable for stays at Starwood properties.
