And there's really one primary use of their miles — that's that Singapore offers much much much

Singapore also offers discounts and
better award availability on awards when you use Krisflyer miles instead of miles from other programs.

As you point out earlier in the comments, close - in there is pretty
good award availability, and being willing to pay a change fee
on an economy booking is a great way to get there.

If you already have a lot of travel booked and can't make the most of the
award availability that's around right now (and you're miles rich), then using miles for upgrades may be a
good idea — especially
on routes like Dallas — Hong Kong.
Award availability is a bit
better on that leg of the trip.
Things didn't start
well when BA.com refused to offer me ANY Iberia flights when I searched for
award availability on the one day I'm free to do this trip.

better (although some of the aircraft may not be the greatest
on the short - haul flights).
I've had a quick look
on BA.com and there seems to be a very
good amount of
availability (probably why this promotion is
on in the first place) but, if you think would work for you don't wait too long to book as there may be a lot of people after these
awards once the word is out.
I expect United to be quite tight with premium cabin
award availability on this flight until they get a
better idea of what load factors are going to be like....
Most programs offer
better rates for flights between the U.S. and Israel, though it might make sense to purchase an
award ticket if there's no
availability on other airlines.
It appears to be a commonly held belief that while Delta decimates the value of SkyMiles
on a quarterly basis and while American Airlines stubbornly refuses to make premium cabin saver
awards available,
award availability via United is quite
good.
Even leaving aside the possibility that I was seeing phantom
award availability on Aeroplan I still had to ask myself if this was a
good use of points or just me being a bit self - indulgent.
Whether you're an Avios or AAdvantage Miles collector these Iberia routes are a very
good way of getting to / from the west coast without paying the higher taxes and fees that we normally have to pay (thanks to the pathetic
award availability on American Airlines).
They provide a
good resource for looking up
award availability on many carriers that are also partners of Alaska Airlines and American Airlines, and British Airways also runs a decent loyalty program, Executive Club, which may be of interest to people who live outside of the United Kingdom.

good at all.
The program generally has
good award availability, including premium classes
on transpacific routes between the U.S. and Asia, which are notoriously hard to get with miles.
Plus, Iberia usually has
good availability far in advance, and unlike it's Avios cousin British Airways, they don't tack
on enormous fuel surcharges
on their
awards.
It's never a bad idea to search
award availability on a route that you already booked, in case something
better happens to pop up!
Without 2016 prices or a view
on how
good / bad
award availability is it's hard to say just how great this addition will be to the Marriott Collection.
Also, miles SAAver
availability on American Airlines (the type of
award availability you'll need if you're to use Avios to book) is not
good at all so don't consider buying Avios in this promotion unless you can already see
award availability for your dates online.
Last, search for
award availability on the route (s) that you found in an airline search engine that provides the
best results.

award availability on many routes.
Secondly, this sees a significant decrease in the number of Business Class seats available
on the route and that's not going to be
good for upgrades or the already pathetic
award availability.
Last week I posted about the first routes that Thai Airways A350 will be flying and I discussed how, as things stand, there's some great
award availability for both the short crew orientation flights as
well as for the first international route
on which Thai Airways will operate the A350 — Bangkok to Melbourne.
United Airlines may not have many cabins that one would call aspirational (The latest Polaris seats
on the 777 - 300ER are nice but there's hardly any of them in service) but it offers far
better award availability than American Airlines and requires considerably fewer miles for premium cabin
awards than Delta — that makes it a valuable transfer option to have.
Purchasing 20,000 Starpoints is enough for a couple free nights depending
on the hotel — particularly if you find some
good cash and points
award availability.
On top of this the A380 offers more Business Class seating than the 777 (
good for
award availability) and the Economy Class product is more comfortable - its a win all round.
