While the Hyatt card does come with several bonus
categories, for
everyday spending, there are other cards that are
better.
I haven't found any issue hitting that by putting all recurring payments,
everyday spend, as
well as gas and groceries — when they're not bonus
categories on the Chase Freedom.
Thus, if you think you're likely to max out the bonus
category spending, or even come close to doing so, the Preferred might be the
better bet over the
Everyday.

good for you.
Personally I value Ritz - Carlton points at ~ 0.8 cents, so to me this isn't a very
good return on
everyday spend, as you can do
better with other cards in most
categories.
