In preparing to teach a course, I looked through a folder of accumulated notes and realized that I first taught the course to an adult class consisting of three women: Jennifer, a widow of about 60 years of age with an eighth -
grade schooling, whose primary occupations were keeping a brood of chickens and a goat and watching the soaps on television; Penny, 55, an army wife who treated her retired military husband and her teenage
son and daughter as items of furniture in her antiseptic house, dusting them off and placing them in positions that would show them off to her
best advantage, and then getting upset when they didn't stay where she put them — she was, as you can imagine, in a perpetual state of upset; and Brenda, married, mother of two teenage
sons, a timid, shy, introverted hypochondriac who read her frequently updated diagnoses and prescriptions from about a dozen doctors as horoscopes — the scriptures by which she lived.
I had an 8th
grade parent ask me and another coach what we felt the
best recruiting camps were for their
son.
My
son was in the fifth
grade, one of his
best friends was being mean to him, culminating in his friend throwing my
son's lunch box on the floor while my
son was in the lunch line, taking my
son's seat so that my
son had to sit by himself.

son is going to
grade 1 in 2 weeks and its been very difficult to teach him to read its take almost 3 days for him to learn to read the word lion but after that he can read and write some short words hopefully he will do
well in
grade 1

As parents / guardians you must do all you can to emphasize to your
son / daughter the importance of
good grades, appropriate behavior / dress,
good citizenship, academic integrity, attendance, and personal accountability.
Comment: I didn't see the documentary on which this book is based (although my
son did as part of his 6th
grade curriculum last year), but I did enjoy, for want of a
better word, the book.
For instance, what do you do when parents donate a large sum of money to a school and their child is promptly transferred into the honors program — while your
son with
better grades doesn't make the cut?
My
son just got his,
well, not just, but over the summer, his seventh
grade reading list.

All of the reviews for this school are correct it is a top notch school the assistant principal is the only person that I have met in this school who I don't care for but the principal Carrol Wicker White is superb she takes as much time as necessary to speak and meet with parents and addresses their concerns.The teacher our
son had this year is exceptional she is caring compassionate and very smart and handles challenges very
well.Parents are very involved and kids are
well taken care of and happy.We want to move to Carroll isd for high school but we will not leave this elementary school until our
son finishes fourth
grade because as great as the schools are in Carroll the elementary schools can not compare to this one this school truly is remarkable.
My
son came into oces in second
grade and i was told by his teacher in the first week that he was there that he is
well behind in his reading.
1st
grade was not as
good we got a new hire teacher (not young just new to the school) that wasn't willing to work with the behavior plans in place and my
son suffered because of it I think.
My
son moved into this school district for his sixth
grade year from a very
good school district in Fairfax County VA..
My child is now in the first
grade and I couldn't be happier with the school i look forward to enrolling my
son as
well for next years kindergarten class.
