They do take longer to cook than
old - fashioned oats as
well as a
bit longer than steel cut, but the method is just as simple, perhaps even simpler since whole oats don't require stirring.
It's a
bit overwhelming I must say, however, among the madness comes
good times, catching up with
old friends and the
best of the giving time.
My fellow eaters — the
better half and the one - year -
old explorer — enjoyed
biting into the various textures and were loud with their approvals.
My 2 1/2 year
old loved them as
well, my crazy texture sensitive 4 year
old took a couple
bites and nicely said «I like them mommy, but I'll eat the rest of mine later.»

Bites — You can't beat
good old homemade healthy snacks before a workout.
I lost my «
old faithful» spritz cookie recipe, but this is every
bit as
good.
So I was wonderfully delighted when my
oldest daughter converted a traditional recipe for cranberry sauce into a honey sweetened version that tastes every
bit as
good as my
old favorite.
As for music; Tallest Man on Earth, Goldfish and Caravan Palace [both dancy but
good], a
bit of jazz and
old stuff like Fred Astaire, I like podcasts too, The Thrilling Adventure Hour is fantastic if you like
old time radio stuff [it's not actually
old time, just the style and is also a little odd but great!]
Then,
good old supermarket red wine vinegar and it was just right), olive oil, salt and pepper (I also added little
bit of minced WSF jalapeño for pizazz and some cubed pressed tofu for protein) let it sit for 10 minutes or so until the bread softens a little in the juices of the tomatoes, vinegar and oil, and BOOM, dinnuh!

One ingredient that I found a
bit odd in their recipe was the addition of baking soda... I started digging around on
good old google and found some interesting information — baking soda can help counteract the acidity of tomatoes.
Alternately, and I've found this works
best with almonds that have been processed in
older blenders, or ones that don't quite break up the almonds into nano -
bits - use a large French press.
Aloha granola is
