Dates are really sweet so if you avoid
sugar then they aren't great... but they are
better than refined
sugar I always think!
I use this recipe and add
dates and groundnuts and seeds anything healthy, when I need a chocolate «fix» at least I know it's
better than the
sugar laden crap they pass off in the supermarkets.
If you don't do
well with coconut (or if you just don't have any on hand), you can replace the coconut
sugar with some
date syrup.

A little bit of natural occurring
sugar from
dates and dried fruit, as
well as natural carbs, are MUCH
better than lab - created protein.
Best of all there is no refined
sugar, they are totally sweet enough from the

I personally tolerate
dates in moderation very
well and I can't even use most added sweeteners like coconut
sugar or maple syrup due to my past history with seizures and an imbalanced gut I have worked hard to rebuild.
As for honey and
dates, I think these are DEFINITELY much
better than processed cane
sugar.

sugar & dairy free brownies (probably the

date — overtaking my famous Raw Snicker Slabs — which you can find here).
Some
good, natural sweeteners you can feel
good about using are

Date sugar can be a great replacement for many treats, but note that it does not dissolve in liquids very
well and does not have the caramelized abilities like that of white
sugar.
And, if you don't want to use stevia, maple syrup, additional
dates, honey, coconut
sugar, or any sweetener of choice work just as

I am definitely starting to use
date sugar a lot since it is 100 %
dates, however it has a strong flavor which doesn't pair
well in certain applications and adds a dark brown
sugar color.
Dates are high in vitamin B6 and other B vitamins, magnesium, and potassium that make them wonderful for energy levels and metabolic health as
well as calming frayed nerves and lowering cravings for
sugar and other types of junk foods.
I add
dates instead of maple
sugar and it helps bing the powerball super
well.
Dates also have a naturally sweet caramel flavor and are so much
better for you than eating
sugar, so definitely don't omit them — trust me!
