One of the most sensible comments i have read here, Wenger is hiding from the fans and can't face the fans... Almost every manager has a very good relationship with there fans but not at Arsenal... He will always blame the fans and not himself for poor performances, as for me i have accepted my fate, 2 more years of Agony and unhappiness watching my beloved club but i know Kroenke, Wenger, Gazidis will not be at arsenal forever because like it or not someone will come and save the club from there hands in the NEAREST future and guess what?

The good news for Arsenal fans this week, and boy could we do with a bit after watching the lads defend like schoolgirls and lose to a decent at best Stoke City on Saturday, is that Arsene Wenger has said that our Chile international star Alexis Sanchez is back in full training after his abdominal strain and could be in the team to face Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday.

It's difficult to blame Ozil for the difficulties he's faced at Arsenal without looking at the big picture... like the fans, he too was lied to by Wenger... there is no doubt in my mind that he was told by Wenger that he was trying desperately to recreate our earlier success by acquiring players that fit the system he ran when Henry was in his prime... as we know this hasn't happened... in order for Ozl to flourish he needs some speed up front, forwards that can make intelligent runs, a boss in the midfield to compensate for his obvious defensive liabilities and defenders who can transition from defence to offence quickly and efficiently... much like he had in Real and with the German National squad... unfortunately he ended up on a squad that has a striker who plays with his back to goal, very few intelligent runs into the box, minus Sanchez, no one to take pressure off him in the midfield, once Cazorla was injured, average defensive midfielders around him, which simply highlighted his lacking defensive qualities and defenders who lack the necessary cutting edge when it comes to transitional passing... instead of blaming Ozil, which is simply too easy, especially considering his mopey disposition, we should be asking ownership and / or Wenger why they brought him in if they didn't intend on doing what was necessary to get the best from him... can you imagine Ozil playing with the likes of Henry, Viera, Petit and Pires, it would be incredibly to watch and even more difficult to stop... so the only thing different between his experiences in Real and with the German team versus his time at Arsenal are the players around him and we all know who is in charge of making those decisions, the Grinch who stole soccer

I would like to tell arsenal fan that the transfer window is not arsenal's problem.Let explain what is in my mind.We need to reinforce our team but we need to think in the future that most of the high class players are going to refuse signing for arsenal fc because of Mr Wenger's philosophy. It looks like arsenal becomes cemetery of players. How many players came in and left because of performance, became good players out of arsenal. We need to accept all of the transformation Mr wenger brings in arsenal but now it does not work. Why??? because lack of tactics, strategies and pretending best players for Mr wenger mind but in reality those players do not get standard of best player.Mr wenger wants to prove everybody that he is wright that players who are calling by wenger are best.I means Mr wenger is the only one can see all matter in good position or bad.He is wrong by thinking this way.He does not like criticism.he is the mind of arsenal.Everything he can say or defend is wright.Think about morrinho comments about arsenal!!!! Why he likes to be arsenal coach!!!! One thing I want to say about arsenal players, I think everybody watch arsenal games. We have got short mind players who play two good games and the rest shameless. They are working hard in the training ground for catching Mr wenger's mind to let them play; what is behind their (players) mind to be the most regular players. Those players have no vision even ambition; they are never becoming high class and their carriers are going to finish in arsenal after arsenal we are going to see them playing for championship. They do not care to become legend as Ian wright, Vierra, Berckam, piress, Henry... What is the big behind their mind to use wenger name to be selected in national team. They are not able to face different leagues in the world.

why are we so bias.Have we forgotten the man utd match last season where Ramsey changed everything in the midfield.Or maybe i watch a different arsenal playing altogether and i need glasses to tell me that Cazorla is better than Ozil and Ramsey is better than Cazorla at box to box.Well now I see why the team ai nt moving forward.I wonder which other top manager would play them together or the trio in the same lineup. How?Well @TH14 i hope you show your face here when this actually comes to a stumbling block and we might as well sell Ramsey according to what you are saying.
On the field sadly Arsenal isn't even an attractive squad to watch anymore, predictable and tactically deficient when facing a well organized team.
This is an incredibly difficult question to answer for a variety of reasons, most importantly because over the years our once vaunted «beautiful» style of play has become a shadow of it's former self, only to be replaced by a less than stellar «plug and play» mentality where players play out of position and adjustments / substitutions are rarely forthcoming before the 75th minute... if you look at our current players, very few would make sense in the traditional Wengerian system... at present, we don't have the personnel to move the ball quickly from deep - lying position, efficient one touch midfielders that can make the necessary through balls or the disciplined and pacey forwards to stretch defences into wide positions, without the aid of the backs coming up into the final 3rd, so that we can attack the defensive lanes in the same clinical fashion we did years ago... on this current squad, we have only 1 central defender on staf, Mustafi, who seems to have any prowess in the offensive zone or who can even pass two zones through so that we can advance play quickly out of our own end (I have seen some inklings that suggest Holding might have some offensive qualities but too early to tell)... unfortunately Mustafi has a tendency to get himself in trouble when he gets overly aggressive on the ball... from our backs out wide, we've seen pace from the likes of Bellerin and Gibbs and the spirited albeit offensively stunted play of Monreal, but none of these players possess the skill - set required in the offensive zone for the new Wenger scheme which requires deft touches, timely runs to the baseline and consistent crossing, especially when Giroud was playing and his ratio of scored goals per clear chances was relatively low (better last year though)... obviously I like Bellerin's future prospects, as you can't teach pace, but I do worry that he regressed last season, which was obvious to Wenger because there was no way he would have used Ox as the right side wing - back so often knowing that Barcelona could come calling in the off - season, if he thought otherwise... as for our midfielders, not a single one, minus the more confident Xhaka I watched played for the Swiss national team a couple years ago, who truly makes sense under the traditional Wenger model... Ramsey holds onto the ball too long, gives the ball away cheaply far too often and abandons his defensive responsibilities on a regular basis (doesn't score enough recently to justify): that being said, I've always thought he does possess a little something special, unfortunately he thinks so too... Xhaka is a little too slow to ever boss the midfield and he tends to telegraph his one true strength, his long ball play: although I must admit he did get a bit better during some points in the latter part of last season... it always made me wonder why whenever he played with Coq Wenger always seemed to play Francis in a more advanced role on the pitch... as for Coq, he is way too reckless at the wrong times and has exhibited little offensive prowess yet finds himself in and around the box far too often... let's face it Wenger was ready to throw him in the trash heap when injuries forced him to use Francis and then he had the nerve to act like this was all part of a bigger Wenger constructed plan... he like Ramsey, Xhaka and Elneny don't offer the skills necessary to satisfy the quick transitory nature of our old offensive scheme or the stout defensive mindset needed to protect the defensive zone so that our offensive players can remain aggressive in the final third... on the front end, we have Ozil, a player of immense skill but stunted by his physical demeanor that tends to offend, the fact that he's been played out of position far too many times since arriving and that the players in front of him, minus Sanchez, make little to no sense considering what he has to offer (especially Giroud); just think about the quick counter-attack offence in Real or the space and protection he receives in the German National team's midfield, where teams couldn't afford to focus too heavily on one individual... this player was a passing «specialist» long before he arrived in North London, so only an arrogant or ignorant individual would try to reinvent the wheel and / or not surround such a talent with the necessary components... in regards to Ox, Walcott and Welbeck, although they all possess serious talents I see them in large part as headless chickens who are on the injury table too much, lack the necessary first - touch and / or lack the finishing flair to warrant their inclusion in a regular starting eleven; I would say that, of the 3, Ox showed the most upside once we went to a back 3, but even he became a bit too consumed by his pending contract talks before the season ended and that concerned me a bit... if I had to choose one of those 3 players to stay on it would be Ox due to his potential as a plausible alternative to Bellerin in that wing - back position should we continue to use that formation... in Sanchez, we get one of the most committed skill players we've seen on this squad for some years but that could all change soon, if it hasn't already of course... strangely enough, even he doesn't make sense given the constructs of the original Wenger offensive model because he holds onto the ball too long and he will give the ball up a little too often in the offensive zone... a fact that is largely forgotten due to his infectious energy and the fact that the numbers he has achieved seem to justify the means... finally, and in many ways most crucially, Giroud, there is nothing about this team or the offensive system that Wenger has traditionally employed that would even suggest such a player would make sense as a starter... too slow, too inefficient and way too easily dispossessed... once again, I think he has some special skills and, at times, has showed some world - class qualities but he's lack of mobility is an albatross around the necks of our offence... so when you ask who would be our best starting 11, I don't have a clue because of the 5 or 6 players that truly deserve a place in this side, 1 just arrived, 3 aren't under contract beyond 2018 and the other was just sold to Juve... man, this is theraputic because following this team is like an addiction to heroin without the benefits

After watching semis Barcelona, Madrid, Bayern even Juventus, we must face reality we are far far from being a European powerhouse, we stand no chance with these teams, Henry was right we need at least four world class players, (excluding GK Ospina, he is a good one) to be at this kind of level.....
Yes we have improved we have become more aware we have started to show some maturity when facing the top dogs and that's the difference between us this season and us getting SMASHED by all of the top teams last season and if you watch football you can see that the city side are not a patch on their former selves nor Liverpool nor even chelski, we are NOT another 49 unbeaten squad not yet and not for a while until the improvements are made, Yea credit where its due of course but lets NOT RUN AWAY WITH THE IDEA WE ARE WORLD BEATERS JUST YET EH, AKB's are the reason we'll never improve as a fan base because they can see NO wrong in anything the board or AW does, Im no AOB but I do see the need for self criticism and improvement and at BIGGUN its not a ridiculous statement at all we have improved but they have also been off the ball and that why we're having a good run.
Are you really naive enough to believe that Wenger would bring anyone into this current locker room that is going to be given a strong voice... have you not been watching, listening or reading about our club for years... Lehman is a blind Wenger follower, which is the only reason he was even considered... just for a second think of all the strong personalities that have played for this club that have never been seriously considered even though they have expressed legitimate interest in participating in the coaching process... even worse, think of all the former greats who aren't even allowed on the same pitch as Wenger because they have offered their advice and / or criticism to the infallible one... I dare you to find a manager that has distanced himself from his former players as much as this man... it's the very reason why only one player I can think of has ever returned to play for Wenger and that was Flamini, which was hilarious considering we were desperately looking for a top quality defensive midfielder but Wenger could somehow find no one better than Flamini in the whole wide world... let's face it this club was simply trying to appease it's disgruntled fans by declaring that Wenger would no longer be given Ca rte Blanche when it came to the backroom staff so they probably asked him to give them a list of those who he would allow in the locker room... on that list he wrote Lehman, Pires and Bergkamp, likely because the first two are the only former players who haven't publicly questioned his horrible decision - making and the last one because he won't get in an airplane
And clearly, that's Villanova, the best team in the country, with the only two stars (Jalen Brunson, Mikal Bridges) you can really trust... although, let's face it: Duke has the most talent and is playing like it, but then again Kansas's Devonte Graham could totally get into Grayson Allen's head and beat Duke in the Elite Eight, and anyway, this does not feel like a year when the most talent or the best team wins, so watch out for Florida State and Texas A&M....
I didn't watch the match last night as I was on the field playing I ran my heels off I was in their faces I was angry I got a well - deserved yellow and could have been sent off later on I intercepted a good few balls and assisted with 2 goals and won the match From the highlights and the analysis I understand the Arsenal were weak in midfield the Arsenal needs an enforcer someone just like me a motivator and in the face of the opponents a thorn in the side I also believe MR wenger was at fault we all knew we would be weak in defence the least MR wenger should have had is a strong fresh midfield after all we had a tough encounter with city + traveling why didn't he use Rosciky, Carzola and Campbell On a different note I like chamberland stature he is tall and has pace and energy why not adapt him to the defensive midfield position with clear emphasis to be in the opponents face The arsenal and Mr wenger need to wake up fast now we have this weekend to prepare for Chelsea if we believe we are title contenders

We are caught in the catch 22 else we would have heard something positive from above MR is caught between supporters and high management / owners but he has to come out of it and change the way he conducts his approach to situations in front of him and become the 12th man chelsea antonio conte did very well tonight I must admit I am a fan as I watched him conduct Italy at the euros and now tonight with chelsea he is the 12 man and after watching the opening matches of the premier league I think it is going to be between city chelsea united for the pole position i know its to early to call but the matches down the road between Chelsea and Liverpool and united and city should give us a better insight but i think conte might just run away with it Arsenal again will face another tough match Leicester as they lost at the weekend too they will have to pull their socks up at home the liverpool match should awaken every one at the Arsenal and the Leicester meeting wont be easy but it might just turn our boys to real warriors
So # 2 Team Slovis, who watched the ending of the extra-inning Fialkow W just minutes before, knew they were going to face a # 7 Team Fialkow squad that was feeling really good and holding a lot of momentum.
Arsenal might be winning games again but let's face it their performances have hardly been inspiring.Far and away their best performance so far was a defensive hard earned 0 - 0 away draw to Chelsea. Its a long long time since Arsenal.played a style of football which was fast moving, free - flowing and with consistently positive end result. The media still seam to tar them with that same brush but truth be known the likes of both Manchester clubs, Liverpool and Spurs are far more entertaining to watch these days than Arsenal's tippy - tappy sideways brand of play Hopefully they will be able to build momentum in the coming weeks and inspire confidence prior to the Citeh and Spuds games... otherwise this Season will unfortunately develop into even more farce than Wenger, Gazidas and Kronke managed to orchestrate last year and the Emirates will empty out even more noticeably!!

i'm often faced with the question «what have you achieved with your so called branded beautiful football» and in my quiet time, i think about it and i came up with a conclusion that all teams vie for one main reason,» to win trophies» which we have lacked in the last six years. As an Economist, i understand Arsene wenger's mentality, philosophy, youth developmental project, rebuilding and most especially, the sole aim of puting Arsenal's financial stability in order but he should also understand that the only consolation we fans get after paying to watch Arsenal despite the high ticket prices which's about the costliest in the league is winning trophies, the ability to say amongst other footballing fans that we have a great squad that plays good football and win trophies. That's what i'm talking about!!!
Good post Hugh, I have to say I watched the live game in some sort of shock, not really understanding what I was seeing in the 2nd half, for me it was the attitude, application and sheer determination, the players celebrating with each other, the subs on the pitch celebrating, the look of determination on Ayew's face, Noble's words afterwards....
