- the game's shading mechanism has changed, which allows for increased gear texture quality - all graphical aspects and programming mechanisms have been built up from scratch for this sequel - maximum resolution is 1080p
in TV mode - a bigger focus for Nintendo was the 60 frames per second - occasionally the resolution will be scaled down when there is too much ink displaying on the screen - Nintendo reduced the CPU load and refined the way to use CPU power effectively to maintain 60 fps
in all matches - weapons were tweaked to let players be more creative by thinking about unique weapon characteristics and their best uses - weapons are designed to be effective when they are used during the right occasion - Special weapons are stronger than the original ones when used
in the right situation, but weaker otherwise - the damage and effect of slowing down your movement when you step
in the opponent's ink are reduced from original - you can jump up
in rank if you're good enough, but only up until S - you can't jump up from C, B or A to S + - when you win battles
in Ranked mode, the Ranked meter fills and your rank goes up when its fully filled - when you lose a battle, the gauge does not decrease, but the meter starts to crack - once the meter reaches its limit, it breaks - when the meter breaks, you have to start over again from the beginning or from a lower rank - highest rank is still S +, but if you fill up the Ranked meter, you
get numbers after the alphabet such as «S +1», «S +2» and so on - maximum number is «S +50», but this number will not be displayed to your opponent - you are the only one to see it, and you can check it on your own status screen - Ranked Power is calculated by an algorithm to measure how strong each player is with minuteness - this will determine if a player's rank is worthy of receiving a big jump (like from «C» to «A»)- Ranked Power has no relation to your splat rate, and is more tied into to how well you lead your team to victory - you won't drop off more than one rank even if you
play poorly - stage rotation time was changed to two hours - this was done because the devs expected people to
play for an hour or so, but they found people
play much longer - with Salmon Run, Nintendo considered how to implement a co-op oriented mode
in a player - versus - player type of game - the devs will monitor how users are
playing this mode to see if there's some tweaks they can throw
in - more Salmon Run maps will be added
in the future, but Nintendo wouldn't comment on adding more enemy types to the mode - rewards are changed each time Salmon Run is
played - you can obtain rewards when
playing locally, but not gear - originally Nintendo had an idea for this mode, but had no
background setting, enemy designs, etc. - Inoue suggested that it should be salmon - themed - when Nintendo hosted the Splatfest that pit Callie against Marie, the development of Splatoon 2 had started - the devs had already decided to have the result reflected
in the sequel - they even had an idea to announce the Splatfest with a phrase «Your choice will change the next Splatoon» - the timing to announce a sequel wasn't right, so they decided against this - they eventually released a series of short stories about the Squid Sisters to show how the Splatfest affected the sequel's story - Nintendo wouldn't say if Marina is an Octoling, and noted that Inklings are not paying attention to this too much - Inklings don't care about appearances, as long as everyone is doing something fresh - the Squid Sisters had composers who produced their songs, but Off the Hook are composing their music by themselves - Pearl is genius artist, but she couldn't find a right partner because she's a bit too edgy - she eventually found Marina as a partner though, and their chemistry is sparkling right now - Nintendo is planning a year of content updates for Splatoon 2 - when finished, the quantity of stages will be more than the original - some of the additional stages are totally new and some will be arranged stages from the first game - not all original stages will return and they are choosing stages based on the potential for them to be improved - Brella is shotgun-esque weapon, so the ink hits your opponent more if you are closer - it can shield damage when you open it, but the amount of damage has a limit and once it reaches it, it breaks - you can shoot ink, but you can't use the shield feature when it breaks - the shield won't prevent your allies ink - there are more new weapon categories which haven't been revealed yet - there are no other ranked modes outside of the three current options - the future holds any sort of possibility, but the devs didn't
get specific about adding more content like that - for the modes, they adjusted the rule designs so that players will experience the more interesting aspects
- character creation lets you choose skin color, face, eye color and haircut - later
in the game you can
get glasses, pants, shoes and other stuff - start off by meeting Tom Nook and his posse of Happy Home employees - this includes Lyle the Otter and Digby the Dog, who give advice and help to keep the game moving forward - Lottie the Otter is Lyle's niece and handles the front desk
in the game - she welcomes you every time you boot up the game and tells you what to do next - gameplay starts off with placing furniture, but quickly evolves into something more - place a house on the world map and cycle through seasons to see what you like - house can modified with different roofs, doors, colors and more - every animal unlocks new furniture for you to use - completing a lot of requests is vital to
getting a lot of content - characters will react to everything that you place and remove
in the house - three pieces of furniture must be
in or outside of the house and these need to implemented into the final design - if you don't follow this rule, your animal customer will not approve - add wallpaper, carpets, lamps, signs, music covers, paintings and much more - by completing special objectives
in the office, which you pay for with
Play Coins, you can even expand the feature set - set
background sounds, choose curtains, change up furniture, display fossils and
get a bigger variety of fish and paintings.
Generally, the visuals are clean (helped by the relatively simplistic terrains and
backgrounds), and so don't
get in the way of you
playing the game — although one particularly murky sewer - based level later
in the game looks noticeably bad (it didn't look great back
in the day either).
Get lost
in the atmospheric music and glowing minimalist world, then find your way out.Traverse the labyrinths, change your color to move through corresponding walls, solve puzzles, and avoid danger.Search the mazes to find «Glitches» and unlock more complex labyrinths and puzzles. All tutorials, settings, and navigation
in the game are made with symbols (no language is used) so anyone from any
background can learn and
play.
Unlike the last video where we saw teamwork between the main characters with pretty music
playing in the
background — instead we
get a crap - load of action, with F»n a ton of explosions.
How would it be fair if I prestige ranked without spending hours upon hours
playing alongside people who
got really good by
playing against the other people online, the people who call each other faggots and leave their mics open with the TV
in the
background; the people with names like JaptasticNigsniper and somethingsomething420 and schooledyan00b and DarthPWNage; the 12 - year - olds who have nothing better to do than
play Call of Duty because their parents couldn't care less about whether they're doing their homework since that's the teacher's job?
But before I
get into how the game
plays, let me just give you a bit of
background in terms of the game's storyline.
Since gaming first started the game of pool has been implemented into a lot of games over the years, some good but a lot of them not all that entertaining and rarely do you
play a pool game that actually resemblance the real thing, Pure Pool is as close as you'll
get to the real thing without the grimy bar stench
in the
background.
There's only one song
playing in the
background of Jetpack Joyride and yet despite several hours of
play it never
got boring (for me at least).
The best way I can describe WWE Universe is that it is your GM mode you would find
in other sports games, but you also
get to
play it as a career mode while you pull the strings from the
background.
Playing on console offers a good experience, but crowd and
background textures appear a bit muddy even
in gameplay on some tracks — on the other hand, the track and car animations and textures are as good as it
gets, with dirt, damage, and even the tarmac beneath you showing some serious attention to detail across all console iterations.
Exploration is still key, as you'll want to cover every inch of the game looking for collectibles like the Mr. Everywhere bobble heads, documents with all kinds of lore on them, video tapes that can be
played through to give more of a
background on what is happening, and Antique Coins which are used to purchase three items later
in the game that you'll absolutely want to try and
get.
I'd recommend downloading Corbeil's soundtrack and
playing it
in the
background while you do mundane tasks; somehow little things like washing the dishes and
getting dressed are giving meaning.
Play as an entire community — each survivor
in the game is their own person, with a unique mix of
background traits, skills, and attitudes that determine what they can do, what they want, and what they are willing to do to
get it.
If you beat a stage
in the Super Mario World theme while the Bonus Stage («Mushroom») alternate
background music is
playing, you'll
get the «Bonus Stage Clear» music instead of the usual theme.
At this point, we've
gotten the game to a point where you can
play the game by looking at both the foreground and the
background, just like if you were
playing in 2D.
You
play the games
in third person
getting to know the characters, their personalities and their
background all through out the games.
