scores for cognitive development and behavior, higher IQs and language
scores, higher
grade point averages and math and
reading achievement test

shows that the United States is squarely in the middle of a group of 49 nations in 4th and 8th
grade test
score gains in math,
reading, and science over the period 1995 - 2009.
Some Floridians claim education success because the Florida fourth
grade reading scores, according the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) test, have
shown significant improvement: increasing from 205.7 in 1998 to 225.7 in 2009.
Scores on the most recent state tests, in 2013,
showed strong improvements in mathematics,
reading, and writing at all
grade levels.
