That's what the New York board of regents told educators
last week about a policy it had hastily adopted 11 days
earlier requiring the equivalent of three
years of a foreign language to
graduate from high school.
The featured artists range from legendary choreographer Simone Forti, who taught at the Institute in its very first
year, subbing for founding art faculty member Allan Kaprow, to
early CalArts
graduates Roy Dowell and Channa Horwitz, to a sizable group of more recently minted alums — whose newest member, Kenyatta A.C. Hinkle,
graduated last month with an interschool MFA in Art and Writing.

The report — based on a survey of leading
graduate employers — found that, on average, companies have received 19 % more applications during the
early part of this
year's recruitment season than
last year.
