It seems really nice, as all the recipes and posts on your blog... Can't wait to be in October to have it...:) And I'm SOOOO happy there is metric
weights (as an European, it takes me quite some time to
convert spoons and cups in
grams...).
I live in the USA and would like to know how
grams are
converted to cups - in my learning
grams are
weight, cups are volume, so not apples - to - apples.
This is easier done if you
convert the ingredients to
weight, which you can do by clicking on either «ounces» or «
grams» below the ingredients header.
It's hard to use
weight as a measure if you are unsure how to
convert from cups to
grams.

I
converted all the measurements into
grams for accuracy, (33g of cocoa powder, 50g of sugar, 156g of flour, 85g of butter, 25g of vegetable shortening) but perhaps I should attempt this again using volume instead of
weight.
Remember to use
grams — the metric measurement — or to
convert your baby's birth
weight into a decimal by dividing the number of ounces by sixteen.
Of course since nuts have about 2800 cal / pound and are high on the calorie density scale... see CRON - O - meter for calculating values for specific foods (use 454
grams to
convert to pound)... if your goal is to lose fat they are best avoided until you obtain your desired
weight.
So if your total
weight is 200 pounds, you would then divide 160 by 2.2 to
convert pounds to kilograms and come up with 72.7
grams of protein.
But if we distract the energy used to digest, absorb and metabolize protein, we get 3.2 Calories per
gram of «net metabolizable energy,» which can be
converted to physical energy or body
weight [2,3].
So when I bake my recipes now, I do the math and
convert the
weight to
grams.

convert mentally between
grams and kilograms using knowledge the 1000g = 1 kg.

Children
convert weights from kilograms (one decimal place) to
grams and vice versa, and capacities from litres (one decimal place) to millilitres and vice versa.
Therapy dogs might be used in math (weigh the dog and
convert his
weight from pounds to
grams) or reading aloud (dogs don't care whether you get the words exactly right!).
Dry foods: because measuring utensils measure volume rather than
weight of dry foods, there is not an easy way to
convert cups to
grams.
