These, I suggest, are the essentials around which we can unite, and beyond which we must
grant liberty for differing opinions about issues relating to the future
of Israel, the chronology
of the end times, the nature
of the priesthood, the practice

gifts of the
Spirit, church governance or even (dare I say it?)

gift granted to some but withheld from others that it easily runs into a «holier than thou» attitude which imperils the basic virtue
of Christian humility.

granted if the original copies
of Scripture were extant, but since they were not and since the existing texts could not be certified as free from the errors
of the copyists, the scholars were as dependent as the ordinary man upon the
gift of the
Spirit for the proper interpretation
of the Biblical text.
