If you're paleo and / or don't
eat legumes, I would recommend substituting two pounds of ground
grass - fed beef or turkey instead.
Although, «cage - free», «organic», and «free range» are all excellent alternatives to factory farmed eggs, these certifications
do not mean the chickens were roaming around on pasture,
eating grass and insects, which are actually the components needed to create the essential nutrients in an egg.
As far as toppings go, when I have paleo pancake parties I like to use organic pure maple syrup, blueberries, coconut flakes, cinnamon... and definitely a little
grass - fed butter (or you could drizzle with a bit of coconut oil if you don't
eat butter).
Turkeys don't
eat grass, but we make sure all the turkey meat in our paleo bars is free - range, meaning the birds are raised on - pasture and have the ability to graze, peck and roost as they please.
You want to take extra care to buy
grass - fed beef when
eating Paleo because it's what a cow naturally
eats, and doesn't contain all of the additives they put in conventional cattle feed these days.

eat grass?
We don't process animals in the winter or early spring, when they are only
eating dry
grass.
These cows spend their entire lives
doing exactly what you'd expect:
eating grass and / or hay.

do.

grasses, don't we have only one which might be a clue that we shouldn't
eat grasses or else they'll mess with our blood chemistry?

do eat grass fed meat, pork, wild fish, bacon, and I use tallow for cooking.

do eat lots of bugs and

Eggs are OK, as is chicken skin, but for higher doses,
grass - fed gelatin is the easiest way to
do it if the idea if
eating ox heart or chilled monkey brains isn't appealing.
I'm not super strict with either of these labels, but I will say that when I
eat foods that
do align these labels (mainly whole foods like fruits, vegetables, root vegetables,
grass - fed meat, legumes etc), I feel my best.

You vegans keep on
eating only vegetables so the price of delicious
grass fed beef doesn't rise any higher than it already is.
A person would have to
eat a 4 to 5oz serving of fresh
grass fed beef liver everyday (or) swallow 24 to 30 capsules of desiccated liver everyday just to consume what our early ancestors
did.
Realize that
eating paleo doesn't mean you have to rush out and buy everything organic and
grass fed.
My family
does eat a lot of pastured eggs, raw milk,
grass fed butter, and chicken meat, but not many of the other items mentioned.
(don't even get me started on that) Anyway we can all
eat how we like but nobody has a monopoly on what's best aside from in my opinion
eating locally raised organic fruits and vegetables and either killing your own wild game or at very least reasonable quantities of fresh caught or
grass fed meats.
Sometimes I'm
eating a lot more protein in terms of
grass fed beef and wild salmon, and other times my body doesn't need it as much and I'm
doing more plant - based protein like lentils.
