great way to book Star Alliance partner
award tickets... and booking
business class awards on EVA Air is no exception.

great deal when you are booking
awards to lower South America where
awards can be as low as 90,000 roundtrip in

Aeroplan is
great because you can book one way
awards, avoid fuel surcharges on airlines like United and Singapore Airlines, they have one of the best search engines (although it can be a bit slow), and a lot of their redemption rates for
business class are pretty reasonable.
Virgin Atlantic has
great award redemption values for flights between the U.S. (especially Eastern U.S.) and Europe in both
classes, economy and
business, although outrageous Heathrow Airport fees and fuel surcharges in Upper
Class make business class TY redemptions on Virgin a less attractive op

The Star Alliance (which United is a part of) has
great economy and
business class award availability to Europe.
While Economy
Class rewards haven't taking too much of a beating (most weren't
great value anyway),

November looks
great for travel to Auckland... but most other months had very little or no
Business Class awards available at all.
Next, be aware that these
great values for
business class awards are only offered directly from the airline's frequent flyer programs, not hotel or credit card programs.
Business class flights to Australia are rarely ever seen at
great prices and
award availability has never been easy to find.
As I often suggest travelers take «positioning flights» around Europe (and the US) to make the most of any
great Business Class fares that come around or to make the most of
award availability that appears somewhere that isn't your home airport, I thought I'd share my experience of doing just that at Zurich airport.
American Airlines appears to be more interested in discounting its
Business Class cabins (often to a
great extent) than it is in opening up
award availability on a number of its routes....
$ 2,035 to Europe isn't a
great deal but
Business Class fares across the Pacific are usually considerably higher than those across the Atlantic so a saver
award to Japan or Hong Kong could be good value here.
Even though this set of Promo
Awards doesn't give as many options or any 50 % discounts, it is still a
great price to get to Europe (and beyond) in
business class.
This means that there can be some
great value to be had if you select the right redemption options — like Cathay Pacific in
Business or First
Class between Europe and Asia (not a hard
award to find), LAN
Business Class from the US to South American and Korean Air
Business Class between the US and Asia.
American now charges 57,500 miles and 85,000 miles respectively for those
awards and while that only makes the
Business Class award marginally better, the First
Class option looks like
great value.
In this promotion buying enough miles for that
award would cost $ 2,478 and, considering you would be flying with a
great Business Class carrier, that would be a very good deal indeed.
As stated,
award availability for (saver)
business class to New Zealand on United is not
great and you'll need to book far in advance if you want to even have a chance to snag redemptions with
business class seats between the US and Australia / New Zealand.
As a partner of both Korean Air and Air France / KLM, Chase Ultimate Rewards points are
great a currency to earn in preparation for a Korean Air
business class award.

With that in mind we tried to focus on
business and economy
class awards that can provide an amazing experience in addition to a
great value.

As well as that, any airline or alliance that I choose to fly also needs to be one that regularly offers good deals on the routes I want to fly — as the airlines around the world gradually increase the cost of
award travel it's becoming increasingly important, for those of us with a healthy aversion to Economy
Class, to be able to find
great value
Business Class fares to keep our flights comfortable.
The
Business Class deals aren't that impressive as, if you double up the costs to get the price for a roundtrip, the final cost of the
awards isn't too dissimilar to a lot of
Business Class cash fares offered by airlines when the sales are on — and with cash fares you often have a
greater choice of dates and you earn miles as well.
Korean Air is also a
great option for getting to Asia and if you can find
Business Class awards on Qantas then $ 2,167 + taxes for a roundtrip fare to Australia is a very good deal.
It's also
great to see so much
award space available for anyone wanting to try the aircraft or the Thai
Business Class product out.
It's got a number of sweet spots for
business class redemptions and although it's a little tricky due to its different
award charts, exceptions, and lack of online booking, there's some
great value to be had with the program.
And so, we do know that 98,000 round trip is actually a
great deal — even though it's not long ago that a standard
award in
Business Class to Europe was 50,000 miles each way.
Korean Air miles can also be used to book
great bargains on SkyTeam members like round - trip
awards between the U.S. and Europe in
business class for 80,000 miles.
Redeeming AAdvantage miles for
Business / First
class award tickets with Etihad Airways is one of the
great ways to travel from / to India.
I think what while the economy
award redemptions aren't the most valuable, the
business class awards still offer
great value despite the fees on a round trip
award.
Redeeming Delta miles for Virgin Australia
business class awards used to be a
great deal, but Delta has raised the level from 80,000 to 100,000 miles for travel after October 1, 2016.
If you really just want to experience Singapore's
great business class product, I think this is a
great opportunity to do so, especially if you were just looking for a one way
award to Europe or were already planning a trip to the UK.
The new
award chart will raise prices for some
business class awards to 3X — those
greater than 2,000 miles — and all first
class awards to 4X.

I was up to the challenge of finding the perfect
award redemption and I knew this trip presented a
great opportunity to try out some of the best
business and first
class seats in the industry.

class award availability from the west coast to Europe, and some new routes from the US to the UK will be opening up in the coming months.
