The action looks bigger and better, the new
additions to the
cast are excellent (especially Aidan Gillen
as the villain), and there seems
to be a
greater understanding of where the overall story is headed, which should allow Ball
to delve further into the backstory of James Dashner's post-apocalyptic world without all the confusion.
It's nice
to see returning
cast members, while newcomers like Richard Armitage
as Thorin Oakenshield make
great additions.
In
addition to its
great cast (which includes mo - cap maestro Andy Serkis
as Captain Haddock and Simon Pegg and Nick Frost
as the bumbling Thompson Twins), the script was written by Edgar Wright («Shaun of the Dead,» «Hot Fuzz») and Joe Cornish («Attack the Block»), and Peter Jackson even had a hand in the project.
Even being this close
to the end we actually have some
great new
additions to the
cast, I was particularly thrilled
to see Peter Mullen
as Ministry baddie Yaxley, I've been a fan of his from seeing films at film festival (True North, Boy A, Red Riding Trilogy), he does a fantastic job here falling seamlessly into the world and has an impressinve, memoble presense amongst other characters weve known for years.
He's a
great addition to the game's
cast, and you'll learn
to love him
as you would love a trusted friend.
