Today's look is a themed around a beautiful
piece of
architectural salvage that my
Great - Grandpa Irwin pulled from a condemned old church in Minnesota, a loooong time ago.
Two large Pop Art sculptures, two
architectural models and a model enlarged into a sculpture - installation
piece confirm that one of the
greatest American artists of the postwar era doesn't do himself or anyone else any favors when he strays from the wall to work fully in the round.
So much extra storage in a
piece that takes care of an
architectural dilemma all in one
great project... just perfect!
I have a lot of one - of - a-kind and vintage
pieces I plan to incorporate like a custom farm table and vintage tub (which makes a
great drink bin) and I want to do a reclaimed
architectural salvage
piece as wall art.
This time, I started with the one - hundred - some - year - old window that my
great - grandpa salvaged from a church in Minnesota, and then layered in a wooden
piece of
architectural salvage, my Grandma Beth's old crocks, a few glass bottles (to contrast with the tone of the crocks), a driftwood sailboat, and some faux (and one real!)
Even smaller
architectural pieces like this old corbel can create such a
great look in a room.
