The game not only hosts co-op, which works pretty well, but also some
great multiplayer
modes, including
Deathmatch, King of the Hill, Capture the Flag, Juggernaut, or Conquest.
Aside from the
great single player experience there is also the multiplayer
mode where you can choose from 2 - 4 players in either
deathmatch, cooperative story, or last man standing.
It's really a shame that there's no straight Team
Deathmatch mode on offer here, but the
modes presented are still
great fun to play, and there's just enough maps to stop if from getting old too quickly, although a few more would have been welcome to keep things interesting.
Add in some amusing mini-games like basketball, air hockey and even a
deathmatch mode and Snipperclips is a
great distraction, especially if you're in the real - world waiting for a taxi with a friend or waiting for your name to be called at an appointment with a family member.
There are three traditional
modes, skirmish, team
deathmatch, and Ground Control, a 32 - player conquest
mode similar to Kaos» own Frontlines: Fuel of War that pits resistance fighters against the might of the
Great Korean Republic.
What a
great opportunity to go the bold direction of having a slimmed down, almost Unreal Tournament - style structure of
Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, and some form of domination
mode.
For the first time ever you could interact with fellow CoD enthusiast outside the competitive
deathmatch modes, while competing in Cage Match style competitions, practicing with custom classes, viewing challenges, taking part in random events, and testing out scorestreaks was a
great way to learn the ropes and showcase your skills.
The multiplayer encourages working as a team and doesn't have the same amount of frustration for players, like me, that are not so
great it traditional «
Deathmatch» style MP
modes.
Kill your enemies before they kill you — the main game
mode is team
deathmatch and you must gain a
greater amount of kills than you opponents.
Of course there are additions like new weapons, characters and new
modes like Team
Deathmatch, which are all
great but I think it is the little tweak hear and there that will make this a good game.
Never been a major FPS online player as the frustration of dying to a 12 year old kid 5 seconds after spawning became a nit frustrating but love the multiplayer, I'm still not
great online but there are a number of online play
modes which break up the repetitive deaths of
deathmatch such as Hotwire.
