He is a decent actor who delivers
great performances in films no one sees and mediocre work in major films.
Anyway, I'm rambling... at any rate, my point is that not only was this a great year for performances in general, it was an especially good year for Spielberg films, and it never ceases to amaze me how many
great performances in his films have been overlooked.

The rest of the supporting cast, Carrie Fisher, Bruce Dern, and Rick Ducommun are all hilarious
in the
film, perfectly rounding out the
film and all giving

film, but it's Kurt Russell who walks away with «Death Proof» as Stuntman Mike, yet another excellent addition to his rogue's gallery of classic characters.
Like «Get Out,» the
film thumped racism — and sexism — giving Sam Rockwell and Woody Harrelson
great supporting
performances in the process.
Even they look embarrassed about it all, but like good actors, they each pony up a
great performance in a desperately awful
film.
Almost as quotable as a Monty Python
film and it's one of the best examples
in film history where imagination and
great performances trump the limitations of a very low budget.

in a restrained
performance this time around, which is
great because I passionately despised his yelling and roughing Harry up
in the previous
film, HP & the Goblet of Fire.
Emily Browning's
performance anchors the
film well, while Olly Alexander, and Hannah Murray are
great in support.
Luckily for me, Crudup doesn't disappoint and gives yet another
great performance to add to his eclectic filmography,
in the simply shot but undeniably soulful
film Rudderless.
