Decide where your
work experience will have the
greatest impact on your CV — such as in a
work experience section, or slotted into your education section (particularly if you've had a
placement as part of your degree).
Searching online for your dream
work placement can still be a
great way to find the
experience you really want, but don't be discouraged if there aren't any
work experience vacancies advertised.
While shadowing a journalist with a national newspaper, or a senior lawyer with a city firm provides a good
work experience placement, for an application process, the jobs that you held to generate income during student years hold a
great deal of value, too.

Doing some relevant
work experience or a
work placement is a
great way to develop your skills and it will enable you to evidence your competence and commitment in job applications and interviews.
It's also the case that as investment banks place such strong importance on
work experience, to progress to a graduate scheme, your chances of success will be

work placement with them.

Working out of our Southampton East office, you will eventually take on a 360 recruitment role, and your main duties will include: • Resourcing for vacancies and engaging with candidates who are looking at new opportunities • Database management • Daily / weekly management of temporary roles and temporary workers • Management of the permanent
placement process • Face to face meetings with new clients, combined with strong customer service to existing clients • Developing new and existing business (with the support of an
